Sometimes, sharks explode
2002-03-04 13:20:27
Wow, what a neat few days! I found out on Friday that I was accepted into Rutgers' School of Communication, Information and Library Studies, meaning I am now officially in the Information Technology major! Wee haw, no more ulcers over worrying about this thing for me!
Dang, I had such a brain fart. All this weekend, I was thinking about how I had so much I wanted to write about, and now I can't remember a damn thing. Uhhh....damn, I hope I remember soon. O_o
In any case, now that the AMV site is back up, I'll be releasing my new video, "Liberation of Memories Past" to the Utena movie, sometime today or tomorrow. Please stay tuned for it! I worked really, really, really hard on it! ^^
*sigh* If I remember all the things I wanted to write about, I shall come back and do so. Gosh, I feel silly for forgetting things. -_-

Need damn sleep
2002-02-24 02:44:38
Literally just walked in the door from mah man's house...dead tired...'s friggin' nearly 3 am.... But what a hella fun night oh baby!!!! *ahem* Found out my Utena video, "Liberation of Memories Past" (mislabeled as "Castles in the Sky" on the Conventions Forum), won an award at Megacon for best Dramatic/Romance! Heh, that's cool. Next to my 2nd place at Shoujocon last year, this is my second AMV win ever. Inflated ego be damned. If I wasn't so tired, I'm sure I'd jump, smile...or...something that resembles a form of joy. I kinda smirked, called Mike, and fell on my bed, and now I type. Gawd, I need sleep. Hmm...I really *should* put that video online. I just wanna make some edits to it, and I dunno if I'm sending it to Otakon or not, so dat's kinda a problem. Wow, Yu Yu Hakusho is better than I remember it to me. That, or FUNi has just impressed me big time. I think it's both. OK, NOW I sleep.

Long time, no write
2002-02-23 16:51:02
Blah, felt the urge to write after spending all day doing nothing but.... working stuff. Last week was Katsucon. It was a neat little trip! I'm glad I didn't have to travel too far, or else I'd be very disappointed, what with the unorganized AMV contest, "This is Otakucom" scheduling/"DVD? What DVD?" fiasco, and general all-around crappiness of the con. What made the whole experience a positive one was being able to meet lots of new people, and some big name AMV creators who scare me. :P I still haven't gotten around to watching all the CDs people burned (actually this is the first time I've been on my own computer in what feels like a week). Mike video taped some excellent footage from the con! Footage includes totally freaking out a guy in the dealer's room who was selling bootleg DVDs and getting him on video, running down the hallways promoting "Otakudom", Sean Schemmel (the voice of Goku) being...odd *shudder*, and random AMV-gathering stuff (Anneke is a funny drunk. :P)
Lesse...what else is new...OK, I hate to admit it, but I am so into DDR...-_- It's something I *never* wanted to get into, because I dislike involving myself in trendy things. But, 2 weeks ago, Mike and I were at Scott Melzer's place discussing the new fan parody when he kinda forced us to play. We were instantly hooked. :P Since then, Mike's gotten some games, and two dance pads (OK, so one was from Jon, so we have to pay him back sometime). Amazingly, Mike is *da man* at the game. He really surprised me! I never thought he'd be the tpe to get up and dance, but he gets into it, and loves a crowd. I'm still trying to master Basic mode, so I'm a tad far behind. I'm so ashamed of me. ^_- Anyway, tonight will be fun, since I'm meeting my sister at school, and taking her to my boyfriend's dorm so I can show her what DDR is. Muwahahaha, fresh blood.
Tonight, I got a gymnastics meet, oh joy! That'll be neat. Then, Yu Yu Hakusho is on tonight on TV. I haven't seen that show in years, so it'll be cool to see it in a new light, all dubbed 'n stuff. Can't wait to see what FUNi's been up to. Freeekay!
Gah, it's late, and I gotta get my bum into gear. Time to cut this typing shor--

Too much driving today, and stuff and junk and stuff

VegettoEX - Mikey, I love your newest journal entry. Have I mentioned recently that your sarcasm is one of the qualities I love about you? I just hope people got the joke. :P IT'S FUNNY CUZ IT'S TRUE! HAR!
Just got back in from having classes all day....god, my Thursdays suck, but not as much as as they could. I'm taking this class called "Retrieval and Evaluation of Electronic Information." Sounds smart and fancy, right? Wrongo! Basically, this class is:
"This is Google, a search engine! Let's learn how to type things in it and make a web search. Wow, Internet good!"
*bang head against desk repeatedly*
And this is why everyone in my major is convinced we students can teach the classes.
Got offered a job the other day doing a web design workshop for teachers. Helllls yeah, extra moola. Teaching old people computer stuff is hilarious. Stuff that comes naturally to us is so dang foreign to others who didn't grow up on such technology. Well, so long as I can prevent myself from laughing during the whole ordeal, this thing should be fine.
Katsucon. One week. Need to go...bad! I've been looking forward to this thang for months. I just hope the amv contest actually, uh...takes place. At least "Otakudom" is getting shown twice. Hell, that's the only reason I'm going to this con, really. It'll be a grand ol' time. Hope people go to see it!
Lesse...doing the finishing touches on the video that I've been working on since November. I was able to send it to Katsu... unfortunately, I've made a few changes to it since then, and I plan (err...hope to) make a major change to it tonight, if I can. When it comes down to it, I'll have this video premiered in about a week, after Katsu. Thank god, it's over! I've been dying to put this thing on the net for awhile. :P Now I can actually devote time for something new.
Buffy's on in 10 minutes. Shall I do myself a greatly-needed favor and veg for once? I think I will. :)

gah...shit...SPAZ! SHOCK!
2002-02-06 02:28:11
So, here's the deal: woke up at 2 am from a pretty nasty dream (I dreamt I couldn't enter my room cuz there were piles upon piles of garbage all around. Yeah, it's lame, and it woke me up). In my utter...awakeness, I decided to plop my arse on the compy for a few minutes to do "the rounds." Came to AMV.org, saw the nominatioins, and I went a-clickin'. Saw the usual names, and generally, most of the people I voted for (yeah Scott, woohoo! You go, man! Although, I was disappointed to see a lot of things I liked not up there...-_-). Then I saw.... me? No way. Crap. SCARY SHOCK! Man, if it wasn't 2:30 am, I'd go and spaz out, but sadly, I'm half conscious! Wow, I'm all blushy though, I can feel it in my face ^^;;. I'm really happy, and totally beyond a doubt surprised, in a good way! I'm kinda miffed about the Trailers thing, cuz it's just as much Mike's (VegettoEX) trailer as it is mine, but I was the only one who was credited in that nomination. That ain't fair to him... next time we do a project together, we have to find a way to list us both. Geez, I can't believe people actually watch my videos. O_o Sometimes I'm not sure if they do. But, now I know! That's neat. If these nominations had to serve me any good purpose, it told me that my stuff gets downloaded, and that means I'm probably a bandwidth whore, heh! Lesson learned, me sleep now. Very educational!!
