Let me say right off the bat: being a college-aged owner of a popular DBZ web site is rough. It attracts the kiddies, and the kids, well...they are tough to deal with. Check out this e-mail I got from a little girl today. Yes, a GIRL. I'd expect this sorta thing from male fans (sorry boys, but that's how it generally is, I'm sad to say), but this is highly laughable. However, this e-mail I received also demonstrates why the majority of DBZ videos suck, and why it's creators are so, well...uncreative; they all wanna see the same old shit. That's what it comes down to. Well, not everyone wants to see the same freakin' Goku vs Vegeta set to some random Limp Bizkit song over and over! OK, now I'm just bitter sounding. Just read this e-mail, and you'll understand.

Trials of a new video

This is my first time writing in this thing. We'll see how it goes. Well, yesterday, I finished a new music video. I used a rather obscure anime called "Boys Be." I really like that show...it's funny, sweet...just the kind of show I like! A romantic comedy from a boy's perspective. Not only that, but the whole show is digitally animated! With that said, capturing the DVD footage was super fun, cuz...my god, the source material is awesome. This is by far the best looking video I've made, in terms of video quality.
Anyway, back to the video. This is just a little project that kept me occupied in between classes. It's certainly nothing big, and I don't like it as much as projects I spent more time on, like "Traces of Insanity" or "These Girls Are Crazy." All I knew was that I had to make a vid to this anime, since it's so darn unknown, and hopefully, people will want to see it if I make a video for it. Heh...now that I think about it, it's more like an advertisement, or something. This video focuses on all the main points of Boys Be: hitting on girls, being rejected, and being accepted.
I used a punk song for this video, which is something I've never done before. I had a hard time with timing the video, since the song is so downright odd. It's punk, with swing influences, and to me, I couldn't see any clear way to be consistant with the timing. But, the story is the important factor of this video, not the timing, so that didn't really bother me.
Like I said, this was no big project. It's just a little fun something for the hell of it. I think it's kinda amusing, and hopefully will but a smile on the viewer's face. I think after this one, I'll either finish the small Sailor Moon video I've been working on, or work on a large project that will take a long time *sigh*.
Oh yeah! Last night, I installed After Effects on my computer......I don't get it at all! OK, that's kind of a bad thing to say, cuz I'm used to learning programs by "learning by doing." Photoshop, Premiere, Dreamweaver...I all figured those out fairly quickly. This one though, I think I'm gonna have to research first. I hope there's a book I can read at the library about the program, or online tutorials I can read about it, cuz to me, the program just looks like one big mess, and I don't know where to begin using it. ;_; Oh well...time will tell. Dang, I need to go now! Maybe I'll write in this later. It's starting to be addictive.
