JOURNAL: MeriC (Meri Cantoni)

  • broke sucks 2002-06-12 16:37:04 I now offically can't buy anything for the next month for my own personal enjoyment. Yesterday, my Kimagure Orange Road DVD box set arrived! *dies* I feel like I've been waiting for this forever. OK, so I dropped a crapload of money on that right there. But there's more. Went to Best But yesterday to pick up the new New Found Glory CD, "Sticks and Stones" (go buy, go buy!!!), but in addition to that, I unexpectedly ended up buying Excel Saga vol. 1 on DVD cuz it was $17, and Mike convinced me to get it since it was such a good deal. It looks hella funny so far, but I've only watched 2 episodes so far. Oh yeah, and I have Kare Kano vol. 1 preordered. So yes, splurging is damn fun, but I don't recommend it to those who will regret it. :P

When am I gonna be able to *watch* all this stuff!? waaaaaaaaaah!
  • Goodness gracious, great balls of.... something something 2002-06-06 14:14:13 Summer is such awesomeness. My summer class is fun stuff, totally up my alley content (quality of information on the web, or lack thereof, Internet hoaxes, HCI, whee, I'm a dork!). My job started this week, and I gotta say, it's great to be making money again. O.O My Kimagure Orange Road box set was finally charged, so now I can pay for it. Yeah, work is amazingly nifty. I do web site editing, create tutorials about Photoshop and Dreamweaver, scan articles, and best of all, video editing! Huzzah, all the lame activities I like in one, easy-to-use package. Soooooo...yesh, dat's what be going on right now.

Everytime I go to write in this thing, I always feel like I have tons of stuff to say, and then I forget it all. Oh well. Instead, I shall simply plug my newest creation:

Ever get that feeling where you're getting OLD? My lil' sister is graduating from high school, I'm gonna be a senior in college, my old gymnastics coach called my house astonished to hear how old I was, I ran into a guy from a comic book store I used to go to when I was 14, oh yeah, and I found a crap load of gray hairs all in a patch under a bunch of hair yesterday. Geezus.

Back to my summer class... my teacher (who manages to keep us all awake at 8 am everyday with his cute lil' Australian accent) introduces us to some fun web sites. Today, we got to see the differences between whitehouse.gov, .net, .org, and of course, .com. We all knew where that was headed, so he actually took the time out to censor the main page. It was rather amusing that he put the effort into that. I mean, the last thing he needs is getting sued for showing porn to a bunch of students.

Anywho, here's some funny links he showed us:
    http://www.netreach.net/~rjones/no_dhmo.html (banning water)
http://www.genochoice.com/ (make a genetically perfect kid!)
and who can forget the Dangers of Bread?
    http://www.geoffmetcalf.com/bread.html

OK, time to get my arse back to work.

  • mmm...not waking up at 6 am is good! 2002-05-31 13:16:42 This week marked the beginning of my summer class....from 8-10 AM. Color me spoiled, but after an excellent semester of having to be at school at like...11 AM, having to be at class by 8 is near torture! Mike is temporarily staying with me for the days when we have class, to make transportation easier. Wheeee, tis fun stuff.

A few days ago, Mike and I got to see Scott's DDR project video thus far. It's godly. Oh yeah. Mad stuff going on in this thing, just like a DDR video should. I don't wanna give anything away at the risk of Scott killing my ass, but I will say it's highly enjoyable and impressive.

    AbsoluteDestiny: You're welcome!

My work schedule (as it were, heh....a lot of "work from home" stuff going down this summer, do to my employers going off for weeks at a time) is gonna allow me a lot of time at home. I guess I could use it for AMV-making, but I'm having an odd problem with ripping DVDs: certain shades of green turn organge in Premiere. O_o Gotta figure out how to solve that one!

If I can bring myself to clean the pool today (if it hasn't been done so already), I wanna get in that thang! Ah yes, I need some good vegging out.

    Crap, do I have a paper to do this weekend already? Darn it. ;_;
  • Do do do do do.... 2002-05-24 02:31:17 Over the last few days, I've begun watching this anime called "Chobits." Highly, highly cute fun CLAMP stuffage. A little ecchi, but that only makes the show funnier. I really recommend it. :) Problem is...*I've had the theme song stuck in my head all night* Curse you, English lyrics! Anywho, this show is really warming up to me. It feels like it's been ages since the last new anime I've seen (last ones being Hellsing and some of Panyo Panyo Digi Charat). Must....get...more...Chobits....chii!!

Drat, Kare Kano pushed back another week!? Oh well, I deal. From what I read here, with all this technical information, it definitely sounds hella worth it. oOoooh, but Bandai has accquired .hack//sign. Whoa, way freaky, considering I only just heard of this series a few weeks ago.

Crap I wish I had more interesting things to talk about. O_o I feel like I did have stuff to say, and now I forgot it all....

Why the hell am I still up? It's mad stoopid late. Should go. Yes, sleep good..*mumbles to self incoherently*
  • New video-ness. You cannot wait to download! 2002-05-22 19:31:36 Mike (VegettoEX) and I have made a new movie trailer! It's our first video work together since our X-Men/DBZ one of last year. *sniff* If you wanna read the lengthy production notes about it, or give it a download, check it out here:

    http://www.animemusicvideos.org/video.php?v=8238

It's Cowboy Bebop footage set to the movie "Leon: The Professional." Hope ya like it. It was hella fun to make. :) Enjoy!!!

Yep, this was one project to keep me occupied between now and when I'll debut my big Otakon/Shoujocon music video. Expect more from me/us this summer 'till then!
