One more thing...
2002-01-06 03:54:55
OK read last entry, then this.
Another thing - I found out that for some reason I don't have a show on KUCI next quarter even though I did 14 damn hours of volunteer work. WTF?!?!
Oh and my tuition check may bounce because of something really stupid. Garrrr...

Bad days just keep coming...
2002-01-06 03:53:44
Well today started out good and then went really bad and then got a little better.
So I wake up real late, like around 3PM I think, and I mill around for a while until my roommate suggests we go to Fry's. I had gotten a gift certificate yesterday (Friday) from some friends when they came over that evening (we finished Tylor! yay) and so I figure I should go use it, right?
So over at Fry's they have a Western Digital 120GB retail drive for $199 after a $100 rebate. OMG!!! I can't resist, so I dig out the last bit of savings I have and buy it...
Then I come home and try to install it. Lets just say that my case is so big and crowded already, it was not a good experience. I wound up knocking the CPU fan off of my second processor and actually BREAKING off one of the DIMM slot clips on my motherboard. F@#$. Not only that, but the Hard Drive is in the only place it would fit and still have a cable that can reach it, and it covers a different DIMM slot. F@#$. So now I've only got 2 usable DIMM slots, so I'm down from 1152MB of RAM to 768. Oh well, I'll live.
But the amount of effort it took to get all this done took hours and then I had to fix the Fan issue which was another bitch... ugh.
Anyways, I know have another drive with 111GB on it, which is quickly filling up as I move stuff off my RAID drive. So at least the day ended well...

Today was a bad day
2002-01-05 06:47:39
Well technically it was yesterday but blah.
So last night when I'm trying to figure out what classroom my japanese course is in this morning, I find out that all my classes were dropped by the computer because my fees never got payed... even though I PAYED them, I guess they got lost in the mail. Sigh. So I had to go add my Japanese class, and I have to hope nad pray that my other 3 classes will have space to add me. F@#$.
So then I head home and get a message from my Mom on my answering machine. She says to call home right away as my blood test results from Wednesday's doctor visit came in.
Uh oh.
So I call up and I've got abnormally high (like 2x times higher than normal) levels of lyceme (or something like that, dunno spelling, it's a pancreatic enzyme) in my blood, which means either there's something messed up with my pancreas (thus causing the stomach pains) or I passed a gallstone thru my pancreas (thus causing the stomach pains). Not good, as this could lead to Prancreatitis (i think that's the name) which is life threatening.
So a little shaken, I head down to the local hospital emergency room to get more tests done. I picked the wrong hospital, I can tell you. I should've headed more towards Costa Mesa, not more towards Santa Ana. Yeech...
Anyways, so I get there, and the draw a whole lotta blood after sticking an IV line in me (just the hole, the don't hook it up to anything yet) so I have this needle stuck into my right arm for a good 2 hours. Meanwhile I'm waiting here wondering if I'm going to have to get my gallbladder removed while I wait for my results to come back...
Turns out the lyseme count is fine. Urine sample is fine too. Clean bill of health in terms of blood and urine tests.
Great. So I just wasted 2 hours in a nasty-a$$ hospital with a needle stuck in my arm worrying my ass off because some bitch at the lab in NorCal I went and f@#$ed up my tests.
Only real good point of today: Macross Box Set came. I am happy about that, at least. And I'm glad I'm not going to die or something, that's good. But Macross Box Set!! That's more important, right? =)
So now I have yet ANOTHER series to add to the list of possible series I will work on next. Most likely I'm going to do more Eva now (2 or 3, hopefully only 2) and get those out of the way, and then move on to something else. I've got like 6 different choices, all of which I have great ideas for and want to work on badly. Oh the agony...

Well I went to the doctor today and he's gonna put me on Cipro (now I can tell everyone I have Anthrax!) and later Pepcid if the stomach pains don't get any better. He said the stomach muscles could be irritated from the constant coughing for 3 weeks (since those muscles are tensed up really hard every time you cough) or it could be some sort of infection which hopefully the Cipro will also help. So at least I don't have cancer or a hernia or something... well not that I know of, yet. I also went to have a chest X-ray to make sure I don't have pneumonia.
Anyways, I didn't managed to finish Chrono Cross in time before I go home. Oh well, it's a pity but that's life.
We didn't watch much more Eva either. I'm copying the rest of the series onto tape for my dad and my sister so they don't have to watch it on a TV. Thank you ADV for not adding Macrovision!
Can't wait to get home tomorrow and start working on AMVs again. But now I'm really tired and I'm gonna go to bed. Good night.

Well my health has sorta been deteriorating over the last month and a half - I don't know why. Back at around Thanksgiving I came down with a cold, it never really fully went away. Then maybe 3-4 weeks ago it turned into a cough. I thought "OK, I just need to get more rest and drink more fluids."
Doesn't get any better. So I go buy some Halls coughdrops. That doesn't help at all. Then I buy some Robatussin syrup stuff (which the best way I can describe tastes like processed rotten rasberries). That doesn't help much either.
So I come home last week to see my family for 10 days and like a day after I arrive my stomach starts acting funny. It starts gurgling and doing all sortsa weird painful stuff. Now it's gotten to the point where I walk like a hunchback because it hurts less when I bend forward or bend my legs up. (i.e. sitting in a chair is ok but lying flat is not, so sleeping's a bitch)
It's like I have indigestion all the time, and the pain like when you have bad gas built up and you feel like your stomach's being pushed outward.
So I'm gonna try and go see the doctor tomorrow. If he can't get me in tomorrow then I'll have to go find a new Doctor down in SoCal since I'm leaving on Thursday to go home.
This officially sucks. I can't play DDR with my stomach like this. ^_^
On a lighter note I'm almost to disc 2 in Chrono Cross, so it should be finished before I leave for SoCal, I hope. Gonna have to play it an awful lot tomorrow to do it but hopefully I can make it.
I'm taking my Evangelion TV DVDs back with me, since I lent them to my Dad and Sister at Thanksgiving. They still haven't finished them but we've gotten thru the first 3 discs and my Dad's going to just rip the other 5 discs to his hard drive and watch them there with my sister, if they ever get around to it. =)
Oh yea, and I'm very disappointed in Diet Pepsi twist. For those who don't know, I'm a Diet Pepsi addict. Yes, I hear 95% of you gagging and saying "How can he drink that Dog piss?" and to them I say, "HEY I LIKE IT SO BACK OFF!" Taste is subjective. =)
When I first had DPT I had it in the 20oz bottles you can buy from vending machines and such. It actually tasted good in that form! Now I've tried it in the cans and the 2 liter bottles and the taste pales in comparison to the 20oz bottle.
As for regular DP, I can tell in a few sips whether it's from a fountain, a can, a 2 liter bottle, or a 20oz bottle. They each have their own distinct flavors so I've gotten very good at recognizing them. Frankly the cans taste the best (they have that extra aluminum zing to them) and then the 20oz bottles, followed by the 2 liter bottles and then fountain drinks.
Ow, stomach just hurt a lot right there.
Anyways, usually the reason fountain drinks taste so bad is that no one ever gets the mixture right! I've had the occaisional fountain DP that tastes terrific, but most of the time the water they use isn't carbonated enough, they aren't adding enough syrup, or they're adding too much syrup. Gah.
Take In 'N Out Burger. If you're on the West Coast you know what I'm talking about. Anywhere else in the world and you'll have no idea.
In 'N Out never EVER has their water carbonated enough. Their soda is always flat. Even tho they serve Diet Coke (vastly inferior to DP) I still would like to have a decent soda fountain to drink from.
Oh yea, Togo's usually has a good fountain mix, which is good since they also serve Pepsi! Yay, Togo's!
Oh well enough soda ranting. I'll have my Eva DVDs back which means I can start work on AniPara track 1 for the AniPara project, and I'll be able to do something else.
And BTW, when I said "sequel" to Soul of an Angel... NO I'm not making Soul of an Angel 2 or anything. That video is done with. I only meant that I'm making something in a similar style, but it will be different all on its own. I don't do sequels, but this will be its spiritual successor, so to speak.
No I won't tell you what song/series it is. I never let out details of my videos so don't ask.
