  • Professional Crastination: It's a Way of Life 2014-04-18 06:00:23 Realized I've been procrastinating most of this past decade, both with important shit and small hobby projects and timesinks like AMVs. Just look at all my remakes; safe stuff that require little else but time and patience. Now I'm putting all my efforts towards more creative endeavours and that may or may not include animating and remixing music videos as well. But I'll probably never edit another plain old AMV in my life.
  • 2012 2012-03-08 14:51:11 Divorce is totally cancelled. Won't delete the sources just yet, but I was commissioned to make another one, which is coming along very slowly, and Divorce just pales in comparison. Been wanting to make a video for that song for so long, so I jumped at the oppurtunity before releasing Elfen Lied is sort of meh.
Let's see how the other one comes along.
  • 2010:2 2010-10-22 06:28:56 ...that is to say; I finally got around to watching Code Geass and despite being pretty mediocre half the time, the general feeling was that of being blown the fuck away by it, and I wanted to pay some tribute =)
  • 2010 2010-10-22 06:26:28 I know I was pretty slow to it, but I just finished watching Code Geass and started playing around with an idea, so I reinstalled Premiere and opened up the old Divorce-project I was working on three years ago only to realize I really left it near completion. No promises, but I'll see if I can't just put some finishing touches to it already.
  • 2009 2009-08-13 20:45:19 Got this quickcomment on Engel:

"To put things straight - IMO, there's no point in remaking something like 'Engel' without 100% matching, and just ading better quality footage. That remake IS better than the Turbo's one, but it still lacks the sleek, powerful, unstoppable appealance of the original vid. Really minor differences, slightly tweaked lip-sync, and the same problem - don't-have-an-idea-why annoying as hell sound... For me, it's a piece of great, but unnecessary work. Kevin Caldwell's cut still remains the best overall, visuals are good enough, the patine of it makes something to it's atmosphere and feeling as a whole, and sincerely - why try to change anything about it?"

I feel pretty much the same. It's just too tempting when you know how to do it and have too much free time. That's pretty much the whole incentive. Here's hoping I'm not ruining it for anyone by adding the Kaysow-remake-option, but I made these mainly for myself since I like editing and killing time. And AMVs, to some extent.

So I've been off for long again. Same old. Incidentally, I went through that video I didn't finish two years ago and it's got potential, but I foces way too much on the next clip and not the whole picture, so there's a lot to rework as well. +I also realized Elfen Leid is pretty fucking pretentious and I haven't watched it since, so there's not a lot of appeal in it atm.
Haven't seen a lot of animu lately, but Higurashi was pretty goddamn great. Season 2 felt a bit like selling out, but the first one was pure genius. There's no way I'm even considering making any amvs for it tho, "Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura Purin Purin Boron Nurururerorero" has already been made, so what's left to add when it's already been done perfect?
