  • Tom the Fish 2003-05-07 09:53:35 NOOO! I was just getting your videos and I've thoroughly enjoyed all five that I've seen so far. I'm downloading the rest right now (the ones you have on local). Don't let the mean spirited people get you down. Please.

    Your Ghibli videos are just wonderful. "The Top of the Rain", "There is a Number of Small Things" and "Quite A Crowd" are all good videos. They also give you an idea of what the actual anime is about for us who haven't yet seen them.

    And I can't stop smiling when I watch your "Watch Me Do My Cowboy Walk" video. It's just so funny. lol

    Your journal entry about quitting putting your videos to the internet just made me so sad. I have no other way of getting them. And I also wish that you don't abandon the forums because your posts are a pleasure to read.

    Ok. That's it. I just had to answer to that journal entry all though I don't even know if Tom reads my journal (probably not). I would PM him but I'm so shy. =( I'm off to chat with Venomi now, if he's just online. 
  • Updates 2003-05-06 12:28:06 I have an avatar! >_< Three months have gone by and it's finally here. Is it worth the wait? Not by a long shot. But it is a kind of a teaser of what is to come. Can you have lets say 20 KB big avatar, if it's off site linked?

    I also changed my profile picture. It's still my cat Värttinä and this time she's in our sauna. They like to sleep there because it's warm and quiet. I occasionally have my tongue stuck out just like her. lol

    Also I added some new stuff in my profile: "The forums that I'm a Member At" and "Up To Date List". I got the idea from someones profile, but I forgot who it was. I would give credit for the list thingie, if I just remembered who it was. The forums won't do you much good since they're in Finnish all though we do have an International forum in Newton.Leesio.org -forum. No foreigners have posted there so far. Feel free to do so. ^_^

    Now I'm off to watch some videos. Ahh... the joy (that's not sarcasm) 
  • It’s alive… all alive 2003-05-06 07:10:10 My computer got fixed already on Sunday. I’ve just been too busy to write here (this long entry should make up for that. lol). My comp was dead from Thursday to Sunday. My friend PKJedi fixed it. I have no idea what he did but I’m very grateful for his help. It’s quite a coincidence that I know two Jedis one PKJedi here in Finland and one Anime Jedi in Canada. May the force be with you! lol

    And now onward to some random scribbling and thoughts:

    I was at a concert on Saturday with one of my friends. If you’ve never heard of Flaming Sideburns, it makes two of us. ^_^ I had fun anyway and Andy McCoy (sp?) made an appearance on stage. He’s the guitarist of Hanoi Rocks.

    Besides that what did Lupus_lupus do when she didn’t have access to her computer and couldn’t roam in the org? She was bored…bored out of her mind. She took naps, watched Digimon (rerun), read the newspaper, listened to music, went to her cousins birthday party and so on… You get the picture.

    I spend four hours on Sunday reinstalling all of my programs and modifying them to the way that I like them.

    Windows is a bitch! I went trough so much trouble and my comp is still crashing (once on Monday). “The system has recovered from a serious error.” Me hates Windows. Me hits Windows in the face with a dead fish. It might even fix the problem. ^_~

    I’m sick and tired of my job! There’s nothing to for me to do here and the stuff that they make me do is so easy that a monkey could do it. The stress factor of my job is 0%. It just all seems so vain. I spend 8 hours of my day doing jack shit and being bored. I can think of so many things that I’d much rather be doing but unfortunately they don’t pay me for doing them.
    It’s severe case of archive madness.

    My hobbies will end in few weeks. I think that the last concert that I have is next week. After that I’ll finally have some time to start editing. ^_^

    I figured out what anime could go well with the song that I talked about in my last entry. It’s a perfect match. =D I strained my brain by trying to find an anime with birds that cry. Can you think of some? I couldn’t but then it hit me (no not the birds >_<). The answer had been under my very nose all the time. It’s so rewarding to find a perfect match of a song and anime. ^_^

    I don’t know what I’m going to do about the music theory exam. I still haven’t studied for it. I don’t have motivation and it’s so hard. One moment I’m all powered up and have this burning desire to just pass it and the next moment I’m convinced that I can’t do it. It’s quite taxing emotionally.

    Hotmail = spam mail
    It’s not wise to try to contact me trough e-mail because I’ve named it spam mail and therefore I rarely check it. It’s always just full of junk mail like “how to make your penis longer”. I get those a lot. I have no idea why. It’s kind of hilarious because I’m a woman.

    Anyway this Finnish guy from the org called Venomi contacted all the Finnish members of the org and asked if we’re interested in a Finnish anime and AMV club. You bet I’m interested. I’ll contact him later today or tomorrow when I’m not in suck a foul mood. I did a search for Finnish video creators in the org already back in January. I remember him from there. He didn’t have hosting then but he has now. I’m downloading his videos (all of them) right now. Hopefully they’Il be ready when I get home.

    On the local front I’m downloading Tom the Fish’s videos. I’ve been meaning to get them for a while now. I’m running out of people who have more than four videos on local. Do you now what happens to local downloads when your computer crashes? They start from scrath (0%) again at least in my Opera. I haven’t tried what happens, if you use Internet Explorer. I can tolerate a page worth of unsaved text vanishing or few hours work on PhotoShop vanishing, but I get pissed when I have to start my donwloads from 0% again. The speeds that I get from the carrot are on a bad day 1kb/s and on a good day 5kb/s.

    I’m so tired. I dream about sleeping. I love sleeping. It’s always the same at work but when I get home I have so many interesting things to do that there isn’t enough hours in the day. I go to bed at 10-11 pm on weekdays and wake up before 6am.

    When I get home I’m going to read the next chapter to Catalina’s Sink to the Bottom With You fan fiction. She has updated. =D It’s a FFVII fan fiction that I’ve been reading as she writes it for the past year or so. I can definitely recommend it so go and check it out:

    I have mastered the art of keeping the elevator door open! You probably don’t get what a great thing this is, if you haven’t tried to keep the elevators doors open with you foot while crabbing heavy books in one hand and large maps in the other. It’s hard… believe me.

  • Signing out for a while 2003-05-03 03:20:13 My computer will be dead probably until Monday when one of my knows-everything-about-computers friend comes over to see what he could do. I'll try few things on my own before that like booting it from a flobby disk, but they probably won't work. I suck at this technical stuff. =/

    This is actally kind of convenient since this keeps me away from computers so that in theory I could practise for my exam. I'm writing this from my brothers comp. ^_^

    I found a great song from my brothers mp3s. It's a love song sung by an Italian female singer. I'm going to be selfish and not share this one because there are no videos done to this Artist in the org's database. ^_~

  • OS trouble & I have over 400 videos! (not related) ^_^ 2003-05-02 03:18:21 Windows is giving me trouble. I’m writing from work now since my own computer’s Windows won’t even start. I use Windows XP and yesterday I started to “upgrade” it. I got as far as “preparing installation”… then comes this screen that says that there’s some trouble in my hardware configuration and ACPI something (forgot what it was). And it says that I have to update my BIOS. This is bad since I’m afraid to mess with my BIOS. I don’t really know how to use it.

    I’m not sure if you can update your BIOS from the BIOS but it better work that way since my Windows is malfunctioning. I’ll try to figure it out when I get home. I didn’t expect a simple Windows reinstalling to be this difficult. There really seems to be something wrong with my comp. Hang in there Nimrodel (that’s my comp’s name).

    I went to see Hero with my family yesterday. It was very entertaining. It had great music and the visual aspects were magnificent. The arrows, leafs, scenery, the clothes, all the symbols and of course the sword fights were a joy to the eye. If you liked Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon you’ll love Hero. And the love story… *sniff*

    KEVIN: I just presumed that I knew how the profile picture works that’s why I didn’t ask. If I would ask all the stupid noob questions that plague my mind, I’d be thrown out of the org for being so annoying. (Aren’t I already? XP ) Besides it usually is more rewarding to find the answers for yourself but I’ll be sure to ask you when/if something like this comes up again. ^_^

    The dream that Rozard had… lol Every time that I see Shinji (from Evangelion) I think of Kevin. >_< I’m glad to know that I’m not the only person having dreams about people that I haven’t met IRL. Lets see now… I’ve had a dream about Fluxmeister (way before I got to know him) and Jbone (that one was weird). I would say that Rozard’s dream about klinky, Absolute Destiny, the members of More Than Toast and Anime Jedi has topped my dreams. I salute you! lol

    I just had the craziest idea yesterday when I was dancing to Omnistrata’s Gimme the Beat - Feel the Rhythm video (great video BTW). It would be so cool to throw a party at my place whit a big screen that would show videos. Some kind of video projector would be needed. Sounds a pit too difficult but it would be so cool. >_< The nearest AMV showing for me would probably be in Germany or Sweden. =(

    I HAVE OVER 400 VIDEOS! If you count also the ones that were accidentally deleted, I have seen over 600 videos! Reaching 1000 sounds good. Ne?

    I downloaded Isenlohn’s local videos (4) yesterday. I would have gotten all the rest too but all though AMV distribution centre is good and all it just isn’t convenient when you live on another CONTINENT. I downloaded 春と阿修羅 (Haru to Ashura) just to give it the five stars that it deserves (I already had it). I never seem to get bored of this video. ^_^ Here’s the link:

    I’ll buy some CD-Rs so that I can make safety copies of my video collection. There’s no way that I’ll delete them from my comp. What would I listen to then? It’s just in case another freak accident occurs. My brother's going to hear about it for the rest of his life. Ha ha
