Premiere Pro!
2003-08-23 10:53:46
Oh my god! Premiere Pro is a Final Cut clone! That is so amazing it's not even funny, considering how much Final Cut rocks. Within the first 5 minutes of editing I felt like all the akwardness of Premiere 6.5 editing was gone and I may as well have been editing on my Mac. Seriously, I could probably load both of them up, and at a glance not tell which is which.
Motion settings, my #1 gripe in 6.5 have been totally fixed! No more chroma keying picture in picture or clipped clips! Key framing is identical to Final Cut. No more picking your brain for hours trying to get the effect to work.
It's everything I could have hoped for and more. I can now actually edit on my PC again!

Anime Expo
2003-07-06 19:05:21
Well, I'm at the Los Angeles airport waiting to return to DC so I thought I'd write a journal entry for the first time in a while.
First, AX...
I did not have a good time at AX. I arrived late, and missed the entire Anime Music Video contest. This sucked because I didn't get to see any of the reactions to the three videos I had in the finals.
Then, I left the masquerade early thinking the AMV awards would be handed out at the award ceremony the next day. Wrong. They were handed out at the masquerade. Then on top of things I found out I didn't win. So... all in all a pretty bad weekend considering I will have spent 8 hours waiting in the airport, and 12 hours on planes.
Fortunately I got to chat with some people about the AMV contests and one person even said they voted "Bite the Dust" for best in show. So attending AX was not a total loss. I got some cool DVDs, saw the Animatrix, watched some of the 1st DDR Project, and discovered Gold Digger comics!
Now for AMV news...
Well, I got fed up with my PC and Premiere crashing constantly and Vegas Video not having a good audio scrubber, so I bought a Mac. Yes you heard right, a MAC! I also scored a copy of Final Cut Pro 4, and I can't to start working on my next video.
I edited about 30 seconds of the New Grease Lightning in Premiere, so I will have to do it over again in FCP, but that's ok. It should be a good learning experience.
Well, that's all, and hopefully I'll have a new video up by the end of the month!

Scrap That...
2003-04-30 03:12:03
Well, I've decided that I am not going to make an AMV to a song that is less than 20 years old. I'm actually working on a very short video (less than one minute) that I think will be quite entertaining. I hope to have it done this week, so keep an eye out for it. It shouldn't dissapoint.

New Computer!
2003-04-26 02:51:32
Tomorrow I'm going shopping for a brand new motherboard for my computer, along with a brand new processor! I think it's about time I upgrade. Perhaps Premiere won't crash on me as much anymore.
Also, I've decided to start a new music video, which will be quite a change of pace from my other videos. Why is this? It's because I'm using a song which is less than 20 years old! You'll hear about this video again when it's done. I'm going to keep my mouth shut on this one.
