So because Funimation decided to release a small sampling of their catalog onto NetFlix Instant Streaming aka The Greatest Invention in all Western Civilization. I've been able to catch up on some shows I missed, one in particular being WitchBlade. Now, this show is supposed to be some Action/Sci-fi deal with some sex appeal provided by oh, 95% of the female cast, most of it coming from the main character Masane Amaha's boobs which switch between the sizes of "Melon" and "Torpedo". However, I thought most of that stuff wasn't as compelling as the drama going on with Masane and her daughter. In fact, the show probably would have been better if it focused more on the drama aspect rather than the action stuff, which in my opinion wasn't all that great. Entertaining show, not anything special but compelling nonetheless. Thinking about doing a video for it, but i'll file that one away for another date.

We are underway. About 55 seconds done of a 2 minute vid. But, as always, there are entire parts that have to be improved. Im already thinking of some techniques that will help me better visualize and execute videos going forward. Usually at this point of production I loathe the very existence of the video and think its the worst thing ever produced by mankind. Which is probably true but despite that, we move forward. As for my buddy's vid,he is just gonna have to wait.
This year is almost over, so much time wasted...again.

I think my new favorite obsession is Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. Stupidly fun show to watch. From the weird East-influenced-by-the-West-which-was-originally-influenced-by-the-East art style, the awesome soundtrack (I must have that end credit song!) the random and heavily accented F-Bombs,and the moments of just sheer absurdity. Love this damn show. Dont know who is gonna bring it across the pond, probably no one, considering people hate it as much as they rave about it. Still, it doesn't compare to the animated cluster-fuck that is Dead Leaves. Considering its directed by the same guy who did Dead Leaves, i'd say he's stepped up terms of making something that is somewhat...um...understandable? (Although, he did direct Gurren Lagann as well) Still has that same energy though. Love it to death.

Sooooooooooooooooooooo the vid I was doing with my buddy was a failure. Didn't come together at all in the way he wanted so now its gonna get blown up and restarted. Fuck. Im half disappointed because I didn't do my job and half annoyed because now I have to be committed to this longer than I thought. Aside from "Children of Daicon", this year has been a bust editing wise. I'm not happy about my personal vids taking more of a backseat. So instead, i'll just do them both at the same time, because thats obviously the smartest thing to do because I'm a smart person. Yup...

What the hell happened to the quality of the nachos at 7-11? Ever since they switched to the round tortilla chips, it tastes horrible. Maybe its the Chili...hmm...

That's right boys and girls, NBA training camps started today and I can't wait till the season starts...
Well, maybe I can, im not too fond of stressing over games again but sports is all about stress...and money...and illegitimate children birthed in multiple states. Anyway, I'm pretty excited about the Forum Blue and Gold this year. They (gasp) may actually a decent bench that features a real live point guard...what the fuck?

My boy dropped bomb on me and says he needs his vid done by the 8th of October. Shit. I still have a 30 second gap left and an intro to put in. Shit. Oh well, sometimes deadlines are the only way vids ever get done. More importantly, I can get this out of the way and get back my personal crap and get that done hopefully by December. My head hurts.
They need to hurry up and put "Inception" out on Blu-Ray. Give the people what they want.

So Its Labor Day and I'm scouring the TV universe for something to entertain me. I come across some movie called "Turtles Forever" which I must say was quite the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fanwank fest. I only caught the last 30 minutes but what I could tell is the New style Ninja Turtles (From 2003) team up with the Old School Ninja turtles (And by old school I mean they actually draw them in the old 1987 cartoon style, which is just too awesome) Not only that but both Turtle eras manage to come across the 1984 turtles from the original Black and white comics, what the fuck? Then you throw in 1987 Shredder, Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady and a bunch of other characters, it was quite the Nostalgia Nuke. Too bad none of the old VA's could reprise thier roles, especially Cam Clark, who played Leonardo. Oh well. I have to track this thing down on DVD for my collection, can't pass this up.

Trucking along, not smoothly, but trucking along nonetheless. I'm hoping to get planning done by the end of the week and just try and get this thing out as soon as possible. I don't like having to stop working on a video cold and not do anything with it for awhile. I have to revisit it every so often so I don't forget my ideas. Not to mention pretty soon I'm going to have to start working on my next Anime Expo video and I don't want to be distracted since it should be another doozy.

So a buddy o' mine wants me to cut a lil Macross vid for him and I obliged. It'll be a lil challenge editing for someone else instead of my own whims. But I think the experience would be worth it. Im not sure where this leaves my current personal vid. Its in a bit of a rut at the moment and I want to get something done before I start on my next AX vid. I haven't really edited anything in four months and I'm getting a lil anxious. Editing is a helluva drug.

Hardest part for me when I edit is planning. Masking is hard and trying to figure out how to place compositions can be tricky but planning has no definite answers or routes to take and is probably the most important part of how I make vids. Doing planning for two amvs? Bleh. My personal vid is probably dead for now until I get this Macross vid done. My buddy has given me a deadline of around mid October so I gotta hit the ground running.
I still have to finish watching Macross Frontier but Im getting some vibes that the ending is meh. Still waiting for Sheryl and Ranka to wise up, drop the bishy boy and jump each other's bones instead, that would be far more entertaining...yes indeed...
