A WINNER IS ME

Otakon 2009: the con where even a one-week rush job can win first place.
Looks like I've found my niche: I'm 2 for 2 in the Upbeat category at Otakon, 0 for 3 in everything else. :P
But seriously, there were some really good videos in overflow that would have made finals at any other convention. If any of you reading this out there are new to the hobby, and you sent a video to Otakon and it didn't break, don't get discouraged! It doesn't necessarily mean you had a bad video (especially if you entered the Drama category, which is always the most packed field of them all); I think it's safe by now to call Otakon's AMV contest a notoriously difficult competition.

I don't know where this came from either.

I am the bone of my AMVs.
Premiere Pro is my body, and AVISynth is my blood.
I have cut over a thousand clips,
Unknown to RealVideo, nor known to WMV.
I have withstood sleep deprivation to create many AMVs.
Yet these hands will never hold the Masters' Jacket.
So, as I edit -- UNLIMITED AMV WORKS!
disclaimer: I have never played/read/watched any incarnation of Fate/stay night.

It's "rising".
"Raising" is what you do to something else, like money or a family.

Pretend I wrote this on 11/28/08.

As of today, Aquiline Studios is a family operation. That is all.

While the banner editors do have a right to make whatever they want as long as it's within the rules, and this banner got voted worthy so there must be a good number of people who didn't mind it...
... it seems to me that this is exactly the kind of thing that perpetuates the image outsiders have of A-M-V.org as being elitist.
So I hope people don't use this particular banner for advertising the Org on other sites.
