JOURNAL: Arigatomina

  • Ch' 2007-05-03 23:15:59 I don't hate female anime characters because I like yaoi.
I like yaoi because I hate female anime characters.
    There is a difference.

I hated 95% of the female anime characters I saw long before I found out what Yaoi was, because I found them insulting and repetitive and far too eager to show off panties that I wasn't interested in seeing.

Anime needs more females like Storm and Rouge from the original xmen cartoons. Cleavage is fine when the female's like twenty years old - not ten. >.<
  • hey, I like 2007-05-01 02:28:38 I was over at the tube due to a thread in the forum and decided to browse. My name is a vid tag over there, so it's really easy to find my vids when people don't claim credit for them. ;p Anyway, I noticed that recently people have been using my site instead of the org when they say where to go to get more of my vids. That's really cool. I didn't think anyone actually looked at the amv section of my site. It's pretty much just there for direct downloads of the three vids that got deleted from the org for song usage, and any indirect explicit yaoi vids I happen to make. That, and the fanfic readers who won't go near this place even if I offer them free lemons of their pairing of choice.

Makes me glad I picked my own 'name' as the domain for my site. India says it's egotistical, but honestly - what was I supposed to name it? It's my site. I use it to host all things Arigatomina. Which means all things anime/bishonen/yaoi that I like. It's not a general *anything* website. It's just a host for my fanwork, my collections, my anime-related hobby. I don't even keep a journal over there so random visitors see *nothing* that isn't anime-related. So, yeah, www.arigatomina.com is really easy to remember if you're looking for the site that hosts stuff made by Arigatomina. It's a no brainer. What's really surprising is that my 'name' remains unique. There are Ari's and lots of Mina's, but it's that -gato- that stands out. ^.^

And to think, I got my name by random chance while making a hotmail account in 1999 because "arigatou" and "minna" were the only Japanese words I could think of after watching my first Japanese-audio anime (the first Sailor Moon movie). Funny. Now I can't imagine doing anime related fanwork under any other name.
  • whine 2007-04-29 02:06:56 I'm sick. It sucks. My nose has been stopped up for the last two or three days. I've had a constant headache as a result of not getting enough oxygen to my brain. I'm dehydrated from breathing through my mouth constantly and when I drink anything I cough and then I can't stop until I almost puke. I can't count how many times I've felt the stuff lurch up toward my throat. I've been nibbling on food in hopes of getting some energy from it since I'm not getting enough oxygen. Eating makes my head all queasy, but I swear I've been starving for days. I stand up and I want to pass out from exhaustion. I'm surprised I haven't gotten the hiccups yet. That's what usually happens when I breathe through my mouth too much.

I got some medicine today. It's not working. One of the first symptoms it says it treats is nasal congestion. I've taken as much as allowed every four hours, just like it says and my nose hasn't even TRIED to get decongested. The only time my nose cleared up was when I went downstairs earlier. My mom got me some banana peppers. A sip of pepper juice mixed with pickle juice is a thousand times more effective than any cough syrup. It numbs the throat, loosens the stuff so you can cough up as much as necessary, and it doesn't hurt for a good half hour - then you just take another sip or two. Anyway, I fell down the stairs to answer the door and she was smoking and what do you know, my nose started running instantly. Makes me tempted to go outside and hold my cat. Her fur makes me sneeze every time. It's funny that things I'm alergic to are the only things that help with congestion.

Stupid tylenol orange flavored "severe" cough syrup that doesn't do a damn thing. I swear, just swallowing it makes me sick to my stomach. And now that I've taken it I can't take anything to get rid of the headache and stuffy nose. I have alergy medicine and headache medicine that always work. But you're not supposed to mix and match medicine. Bullshit. I wouldn't *have* to mix and match if the multi-symptom cold medicine actually helped *any* of the symptoms it claims to relieve. As far as I can tell the only thing the nasty stuff does it make my stomach turn over. Waste of $5. ~.~
  • dizzy 2007-04-26 01:28:06 I almost fainted today. I'm writing it down so I'll remember the symptoms because they were very distinct. I didn't know what was happening, but it was so slow I noted everything up until the moment I touched down.

First the top of my tongue went numb. If you've been to the dentist and had a shot to the lower jaw, you'll know the feeling.
Then there was a tingling heated sensation along my temples, like a moth was flapping against the skin only it kind of burned.
Then there was a pinching at the back of my head, where the head meets the neck, like someone used their fingers and just dug into the nerves there. That kinda hurt.
Then my eyelashes fluttered. I've done that on purpose before - I've never had it happen on its own. It was very disturbing because I couldn't make them stop.
Then my eyes rolled up on their own and my knees went soggy.
    Straight down.

I didn't actually faint because I was standing right next to a little table. It reaches my knees in height. When I went down my right hand hit that table and I jerked and tensed up - like when you're almost alseep and you think you're falling so your muscles spasm to catch you. That sort of reflex. My arm locked up and when my open palm struck the table I jerked and landed on my knees instead of my face or my back.

I'm sure it was a faint, though. I have a vague memory of something similar the two times I actually did faint. Mainly the pinching at the back of my neck and that warm fluttering feeling on my temples. The eyelashes fluttering and the tongue going numb were new. I don't remember that ever happening to me before. I'm still sort of disturbed by the eyelashes. Can't help it. It just felt like someone else was moving them and I couldn't make it stop. I'm really curious what it looked like.

I was really dizzy when I 'landed' and realized what almost happened. My head felt tense, like my brain was sore and swollen behind my ears. And it was hot behind my eyes. I laid down for about five minutes and felt fine except for a headache that went away as soon as I got something to drink.

I think I might have stood up too quickly and that's why it happened. Maybe. Probably not, though. I do that all the time and the worst I get is a little dizziness and my stomach flipping over. I don't know what caused it.

My mom thinks it's because I haven't been sleeping enough. Heh. I'm actually sleeping more than I usually do - almost 5 hours instead of 3 to 4. It might be because I've been eating less. A lot less. But I've done that before, too, and it never made me dizzy, just lazy and tired. Whatever it was, it was a noteworthy experience.

If I faint in the future I hope it's next to a table again. I don't want to think what I would have hit my head on if I hadn't caught myself and woke up halfway down.
  • I got an idea! 2007-04-24 11:43:27 Finally. I was about ready to drop out of the MEP. I figured I'd do it in another week if I still hadn't started at least ripping. A month is okay - I can put in 10hrs a day if necessary so that's plenty of time to get a beta done. So that was my dropout deadline - the end of this month.

But, yeah, I got an idea! Yay~ ^__^

I was worried because of comments other people in the mep thread were posting. Effect stuff. You're using that? Well I'll use this, then. And I'm sitting back here thinking...wait, we're supposed to use effects? That wasn't in the job description. >.<

It's a pet song of mine. It reminds me of games. I'm talking tetris and that one with the ball you bounce from one side of the screen to the other. A little pacman running aross the corner. The one on India's cell phone that had the little gems you line up that sparkle and disappear. Final fantasy video scenes with all the feathers and fluff that flash into sword fights. Where's waldo books. Horror movies where the camera is running through a maze of trees and flashing on and off of scary shadowy figures. M@Ds. Sailor Moon and Legend of Dragoon transformations. The end of a solitare game where the cards bounce out of their stacks and off the screen. Istiv's multi-bishy videos. A distorted room of mirrors in the funhouse. Mario jumping onto mushrooms. WMP visualizations. Pastels that flash into sharp dark colors. Basketball. The sound of typing. Elevators. Doujinshi sites that only show covers. Kanji. Tsubasa. Chrono Cross.

I don't even have to brainstorm. There's no point. The song makes me think of too many weird images and themes and movement as it is. So how to put that into a video? Effects. Rephrase the question. So how do I put that into a video of mine? PhotoImpression. Okay.

I keep forgetting I have a device to capture things off my tv now. Hm...
