  • My AMVs 2006-03-07 21:51:09 Wow, over a year since I made a journal entry. I haven't made or watched any AMVs recently, hence why I haven't bothered to visit this site, but while I wait for XXholic movie to download, I decided to see how things are going at AMV.org

    First of all, I have some new comments on my AMVs, and I appreciate the feedback. One common view is regarding the attrocious quality of my AMVs. Back then, I was a stupid newbie AMV maker. I used Windows Media Player because it was there, and my footage came from whatever I could download within 5 hours on a dial-up connection. Basically, I was new to all things technical.

    Now, I agree, my videos are terrible, I didn't plan them out well, I kinda just made it as I went, and as mentioned before, crappy footage quality. It was the result of an obsessed Inuyasha fan given the ability to pump out an AMV. Nowadays, I realise how stupid I was and I have vowed not to release another AMV until I learn to make a good AMV. As you can see, it's been years and I still haven't made another AMV.

    I managed to get my hands on Adobe Premier, and I am now the proud owner of several anime DVDs. Thanks to the tutorial on this site, I have sort of learned how to use DVD footage, but there's still some aspects I need to work on. I still don't know how to use Adobe Premier, but by now, I'm happy with watching other people's AMVs rather than making my own. 
  • Local downloads, Opinion, New Windows Movie Maker! 2004-05-18 23:21:46 My bother managed to get a FTP program, he had no ideo how to use it, but I did, and so I used it to upload my videos. Before I kept my AMVs at www.freewebs.com, but the problem was, the bandwidth was being used up very quickly. So when people looked at my AMV description, it has that yellow thingy saying something about download problems. I think that put people off from downloading my videos ever. Now that they are Local, more people are downloading and I'm getting more opinions.

    I think I have 7 opinions, which isn't much, but it was better than 1 opinion. I just love opinions, I don't care if they're bad one, I think I have one bad opinion for Neon Genesis Inuyasha, but as long as it's constructive.

    The opinions I get for my older AMVs usually say something about how the quality is bad. That was because I used footage from other people's AMVs plus, the 'high quality' setting on the old Windows Movie Maker that I used wasn't really high quality. Now I have an updated Windows Movie Maker which has more quality chices when I comes to saving AMVs. For my latest AMVs I have been using footage from episodes that I downloaded from www.anime-kraze.net resulting in better quality, and the new Windows Movie Maker, saves AMVs in the same quality as the original footage, that means if the footage looks good, it will stay that way, but if it looks bad, its not going to get worse.

    One problem I have with making AMVs is the squares or blocks which appear, if you have watched my latest AMVs (especially the Going Under AMV) you'll notice that some of the footage is screwed up with 'blocks'. I have no idea how to fix that, can anyone help?

I made some AMVs but due to bandwidth limits, my AMVs are often unavailable. Does anyone know a good free web host that I can use? Currently I'm using www.freewebs.com .
    Plus, how do you get footage for AMVs without using Kazaa or other similar programs.
    The other day, i saw an AMV similar to one that I made. It was using footage from Inuyasha with the song "Cruel Angel's Thesis". I wasn't suprised because there are dozens of AMVs with the song "Cruel Angel's Thesis" with an anime other than Neon Genesis Evangelion.
    I want to make an AMV using footage from Neon Genesis Evangelion with the song "Change The World" which is the opening theme to Inuyasha. I want it to be similar to my AMV whoch I mentioned earlie, but there are two big problems; One: I have no idea what the opening of Inuyasha looks like and Two: I have very little footage from Neon Genesis Evangelion and no means of getting more. Please help. tetsudatte kudasai, arigato gozaimasu.
