I never would have thought a skit would ever be based on one of my own videos! I can't believe I missed it! I actually wouldn't have even known about it if BasharOfTheAges hadn't told me about it. So many many thanks to him. =3
I'm still feeling pretty awful. I was feeling better than this recently but this morning I feel the same as I did on Sunday and I have no clue what it is. :(
I think I finished converting my videos though. I just need to test them out and I'll upload them when I'm feeling better again.

Anime Boston 2009
2009-05-25 21:10:23
Since I don't use this journal as much as I should, I'll write a quick little summary of my days at Anime Boston over the weekend, including the AMV contest. :3 Be prepared that this might look like a third grader wrote it though since I am still feeling pretty out of it.
Thursday:
It was a great day and the con hadn't even started yet! I woke up early to finish my packing and I met up with everyone. I finally saw my cosplay wand for the first time since I had it commissioned and one of my group members was holding onto it for me. It matched my outfit perfectly and was just what I asked for.
After getting settled into the hotel (we were waaaayyy up on the 31st floor) we got our badges. The line was a mile long but it only took us about 30-45 mins to get them. A group member had a problem with his registration though and he had to go fix the problem. During that hour my group and I went outside where we found someone holding a sign that read "Gaia Online Anime Boston Guild" and I talked with them for a while. What a fun group!
After that we went back to the hotel, dropped off our things, talked for a while and then went to go looking for a place to eat. I considered asking my group to try out the Cheesecake factory where the "AMV dinner" was being held, but not all of us are AMV editors and I didn't know if dropping by without prior notice would be such a nice thing to do. We decided on Uno's. Our waitress was Cindy and she was probably the best waitress any of us had ever had. We put in a good word for her when we were done.
It was about 10:00pm when we got back to the hotel. I took a shower and blow dried my hair to prepare for cosplay the next day and then we played Pictionary. My partner and I won. Good times. I thought for sure we were going to get in trouble though. Jess and Don (opposite team) screamed "Oh SH*********T!" in unison at the top of their lungs. Half the hotel probably thought someone was murdered. XDD
1:00am was bed time and it was about this time though when I started to feel... out of it. My stomach was making weird noises and I was too excited to sleep. I spent the night staring out of the hotel room and looking at the pretty scenery. I got about an hour's worth of sleep at the most. It happens every time I am away from home for the first night though, since I am not used to not being in my bed or away from home.
Friday:
All of us up at 7:00am, dressed for cosplay and out at 10:15 to make the opening ceremonies. Before that I got to meet a long distance friend I haven't seen in two years. ^_^
Throughout the day was cosplay scoping, Dealer's Room, Anime Trivia, Anime Unscripted and the Friday Night AMV showing. If there was anything else I was feeling too out of it and sick to remember. I almost went up to the hotel room right after Anime Unscripted but I forced myself to stay at the convention.
Anime Trivia - Two of my friends ended up being in a group they called "KeyTards" (We are all Visual Art's/Key Fanatics) and came in 2nd place and they won two DVDs. Awesome for them. <3
Anime Unscripted - Hilarious as always. Even though I felt yucky, Greg Ayres never fails to make me laugh.
AMV Contest - By the time the AMV contest was played, I was feeling extremely dead. The only thing I had to eat all day was junk food: 2 Donuts from Dunkies and 2 slices of pizza from Pizzeria Regina. I ate one of my life saving Special K bars and forced myself to the AMV contest. I got confirmed in the contest by Adam so I could go up on the balcony to view the videos with my friends. I almost decided to skip the first night and go to the Saturday showing but I am SOOO glad I didn't... I'll get into that soon.
Anyway, the AMV contest was amazing! Adam and the rest of the AMV team and judges always put together a great contest. In every category I had trouble picking a video since the majority of them were unbelievably awesome. I still think 2006 was the best year for AMVs at AB so far (and it's the first AMV contest I ever attended there), but this one nearly beat it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my AMV was the first Romance video being played, but at the same time I was very nervous. Great job to everyone who participated in the contest. I enjoyed every video.
After the contest my group and I went back to the hotel room. At this point I was feeling too sick to function. I couldn't sleep much yet again due to my friend's snoring and the feeling in my stomach, but I at least got in 2-3 hours.
Saturday:
I knew even before getting up that morning that I would not even be leaving the hotel room all day. My friends left to catch the Drama Overflow and I slept for a few hours. I really wanted to go to the Drama Overflow since my video was playing there but it couldn't be helped. I was even more disappointed that I didn't get to attend that Editor's Choice meeting when I was 90% sure I would on Thursday. I didn't go to a single event, nor could I get myself to eat much of anything. Later in the day I ate which was incredibly hard, but nothing would stay down once I did. I missed all the events, at least most of my group had fun without too much worrying... and it's good most of them are heavy sleepers and didn't hear me that night. I hope anyone who reads this doesn't worry - I'm 90% sure that whatever I had wasn't catchy and it definitely wasn't swine flu. The only symptoms I had were nausea and vomiting. I think it was a mixture of excitement, lack of sleep, exhaustion from barely sitting all day, bad eating habits, and mixing high doses of Ibuprofen for pain with Dramamine for motion sickness on the the elevators and traveling. (Yes, I have a sensitive stomach). To summarize Saturday, it pretty much was awful and I was extremely depressed that I missed the whole day and couldn't even cosplay or do *anything*. I guess it can't be helped though. :(
Sunday:
It was pretty much the same as how Sunday began but I knew I should get out of the hotel ASAP unless I wanted to pay for an extra day in the hotel. I couldn't get on the train in fear of throwing up on there... and carrying a bag or a basket around would freak people out. I didn't want to send anyone into a panic: "She has SWINE FLU!!" I called my mom and she picked me up and helped me carry my bags out to the car. I was gone by about 9:30a.m. and slept for the rest of the day.
After notes:
Besides the very bad parts, AB was great as always and full of laughs. The only things I ended up buying were a blue "recycling" AB bag, a 2009 pin, and a convention T-shirt. I've always wanted an AB T-shirt and now I finally have one. <3 No regrets this year that I could help. My friend bought me a beautiful Clannad picture (I think from Artist's Alley?) and I was told today that I am getting a Botan plushie as a surprise!! I was searching for a Botan plushie in the Dealer's Rooms and he found one for me!!

PUHI PUHI! :)
Anyway, since I am feeling better, I should begin preparing to convert my new AMVs to XviD and MP4 and upload them. I normally have everything converted before the con so I can just upload them, but I was too busy this year.
