JOURNAL: Jerrit Tenurb (Jerrit Tenurb)

  • No Adobe Premier and tons of work makes Jerrit something something. 2005-12-12 18:53:19 Still too much to do with final exams for me to begin work, and I still do not have a copy of Adobe Premier. No idea when I'll be able to get it. Also, I'll have to free up a lot of space on my computer before I can think of beginning to obtain source footage.

Note to everyone- if you know a place where I can download episodes of The Boondocks, e-mail me a link and I will op all of your videos! (And it is perfectly okay to download your footage when a show is nowhere near being out on DVD yet.) Please!
  • Yeah, I'm still alive. 2005-12-11 00:06:40 I'm still working, too. I've decided on Kids In America as my project, and I'm obtaining my footage! I've got my bootleg Megas XLR DVDs (not my fault that Cartoon Network never released the series on DVD), a disc of Titan Titans, and a disc of Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi. It's just a start, but I'm well on my way to getting all the footage I need...

More updates as work progresses, though this will probably be several months in the making.
  • Whoa. 2005-11-21 13:17:23 Just logged on to see what was new here, and saw this business about Evanescence. It is rather surprising, and I have many thoughts on it... mostly that this is the fault of the clueless fan who ent the e-mail, not the lawyers or the band. I hate the record label, but I hate *all* record labels. Nothing personal.

Frankly, though? This is a blessing in disguise. No more Evanescence videos is a good thing- apologies to the creators of the few good videos, but your noble sacrifice is not in vain. Someone send a clueless e-mail to Linkin Park next!
  • First journal entry in a long friggin' time... 2005-11-09 21:22:39 So I've just got this huge gift of money for my birthday (Sunday, for the record) and I've essentially got to choose: do I want to buy Adobe Premier? I have enough cash that I *could* now, though my family would probably protest. I'm back to WMM2 in terms of access to editing programs, and I don't really know what I can do with it. If I want to get ambitious with my video editing, I should just buy Premier. But will I have enough time to continue editing anyway, or is it a phase I have begun to pass through? Not to mention the fact that Premier has been released for quite some time now; should I wait a few more years for the eventual inevitable upgraded version?

I have four projects that are weighing on my mind, each competing for status of "next project". They are:

-Blood Gulch Blues Mix, set to Irresponsible Captain Tylor. This is the Red vs Blue theme song in it's full three-minute glory, with quotes from the first season sprinkled throughout the track. My idea is to make a really psychadelic video using a *little* Red vs Blue footage footage and mostly Irresponsible Captain Tylor, with the quotes lip-synced characters from ICT. If I do this, I have to do it in Premier and After Effects, with spiffy 3D effects and other things. It would be very cool, but a lot of work.

-The First Two Minutes of Episode 34 of Red vs Blue, set to Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Entirely a lipsync comedy, this concept sprang from the Blood Gulch Blues idea. For those of you who don't remember what episode 34 is in Red vs Blue, its the episode that begins with Doc (purple guy) talking to Vic (communications officer of both Red and Blue armies) on the radio. I would have Doc lip-synced by Harumi and Vic lip-synced by Captain Dome of the Raalgon. Yeah, I know. Just reading it like that, it doesn't sound all that impressive. You have to rewatch the scene to really imagine what this would be like. But trust me, it would be hilarious. *Hilarious.*

-The In Set, set to Futurama. I already started this project on WMM2 before I did Anime Sound Clip Video Hell, and I got more than halfway done. I ultimately dropped it because I was having trouble with the source footage and things didn't look good. The halfway-completed copy of the video isn't bad, though, and I still love the concept. If I could start this from scratch in Premier, it could be my first good action video.

-Kids in America, set to every damn American cartoon I can get my hands on. I've wanted to make this video for years, and I love the idea. If I were to do this, I would use (*deep breath*) Simpsons, Family Guy, Teen Titans, Totally Spies, King of the Hill, Daria, Powerpuff Girls, Invader Zim, Dexter's Laboratory, Lilo and Stitch, Recess, Futurama, Megas XLR, Love Hina, Digimon, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Foamy the Squirrel, and others that aren't coming to mind right now. I have no idea how I'd get my hands on footage of some of those (I certainly don't want to have to buy them all, some of these are cartoons I don't like at all). Of all four of these concepts, this one is the vaguest... but this is also the one I want to do the most, because it's the one I've had the longest.

So ultimately, I don't know which I will pick. The easiest would probably be the lipsync Red vs Blue video, and that would be hilarious and popular if I were to do it... while the hardest would probably be Kids In America, which probably would not be popular at all. And then there's the other matter: time. Any one of these projects would take about a month or so of hard work. Am I really a good enough editor to justify taking a month out of my life to make another video? Or should I rest on my laurels and call it quits?

Its something to ponder, that's for sure.
  • ...so, yeah. 2005-10-21 20:53:06 I'm putting all editing on OFFICIAL HOLD until I can put my life back together. That means I wont be back on the Org for quite some time. Some of you I will miss, the rest of you I will be glad to never hear from again.

You may notice, if you give a rat's ass, that last post was fairly positive, while this one is fairly negative. Yeah, there's a reason for that. The reason, which I will not talk about here, is something I am currently purging from my memory with alcohol. I finished off a bottle of peach schnapps, it should be kicking in any second now. It wont be enough of course, though. No, I'll need to visit my friends for that. Luckily, one thing that is always easy to find on a dry campus is free alcohol.

Why am I depressed enough to drink and drink 'til I'm out of all sense? Well, frankly, I don't want to talk about it and, let's face it, you don't want to listen. Suffice it to say that girl's are maddening, liars, and hell-bent on taking my innocence and defiling it until I am thoroughly jaded.

That's it, the alcohol is kicking in now. Jerrit out.
