Problems
2008-05-11 18:19:50
I'm working on a fresh install of everything, and the codecs I'm using this time around seem to work a lot better. I can actually output a video that will open in the correct aspect ratio in most video players now. Not that I've been working on a video! No videos this year for me. If anyone tells about a video I released in 2008, they're lying. There is absolutely no reason to check my profile page, unless you want to see my great 2007 vidoes.. well most of them are great.

If you plan to see Noein and haven't don't watch my latest vid.

This is my best video, I don't think I'll ever make one I'll like better. I had a clear vision of what imagery went in which parts of the song and it all came together well. After I started this AMV I kept getting sidetracked by other video projects for my youTube page. I was stating to get worried I wouldn't finish by the end of the year but I managed. Now I can relax a bit, maybe try out some other editing software before doing my next batch of videos. Hell Spiral 2008 is going to be insane and wrong.

ambition

Thanks to AnimeFest's late entry policy I actually have an AMV entered in a convention that I'm going to. I think it's a really good one too, and it will be on this site the 4th. I'm hoping that if I win it could help me with best new amver in next years' VCAs. For the rest of the year: I have 2 half finished amvs I started before the one entered in the contest. And I have one more really powerful idea for Noein I want to complete this year before my interests turn my attention to some non-anime vidoe projects.

creepy

After struggling with framerates and aspect ratios, I've finally produced a clean copy of my third amv:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=145532
It was tough getting the type of footage I wanted out of the six FLCL episodes, but I think it's a good representation of the love/freak out relationship between the main characters. I'm a little worried that too often I made a choice of footage that was too literal for the lyrics, but the fact that FLCL can provide those kinds of scenes is the reason I chose to do this. Still, I wanted to move away from the lyrics and try to go with the rhythm of the music more, but there were times when the lyrics points came rapid fire or could be seen as meaning something I didn't want it too if I tried to extend a scene over them (the occurrence of the word 'mom' while a female character was onscreen). Hopefully my Advent Children amv will be more music based.
I've started collecting small clips and music for a amvhell type thing. It's pretty bad, should be fun. Think I should make it an annual thing, otherwise I won't know when to stop adding and release it. I actually had to add this song to the database, Ima Robot is one of the best bands no one has ever heard of. Just like Kirameki Project is one of the most elusive animes. It's not even on IMDB, and the DVD programmers spelled the name wrong on the volume label. I wonder if I'm required to actually make an amv about it in order to get it into the database so I can add it to my favorite animes list.

And now for something completely different

Second AMV
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=139254
Jo = Juila and Meg = Lena in this mix of Burst Angel and t.A.T.u
Wow, this time my AMV has a plot:
Suspiciously parent-like people disaprove of Jo and Meg, so they run away to live in happiness. But Meg starts pissing Jo off, so Jo hurts Meg's feelings and she runs away crying. But she runs into a demon of course, so Jo goes into a berzerker rage and rescues Meg. Happy ending.
Finally got my website up, running, and on able to be seen from the internet. Plus its all xml which will be interesting to see what comments I get about that.
