Wow - I just got back from going to a bar.
I'm not really a party person. I prefer hanging with people I know and not having to worry about being hit on/groped by random people. So this was the first time I've been to a bar since I was in elementary school. (My grandparents used to own one in northern Wisconsin.)
But, this was a gay bar.
I went with my roommmate and one of her friends, who's gay. He and I had fun oogling the eye candy. :) I suppose it's good all the guys there were gay, because otherwise I would have been sorely tempted. *sigh* Wish I could find a tall, cute, *straight and single!* guy...
Anyway, it was fun. I didn't get drunk, since I have to work in the morning, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be. My hair smells like cigarette smoke though. >_< Although I could go for a cigar right about now...
Basara video is almost done! Just five seconds of subtitle removal left. Woohoo!! Hopefully I'll post it by the end of the week.

I - can't - take - it - anymore!
I'm just going to letterbox the Basara vid. Of course some scenes still have to be manually edited, and whatnot, so I can't cheat and just use TMpegs clipping feature. Ah well. Beats hours upon hours of frame-by-frame editing. I don't know how you have the patience for it, alternatefutures.
Speaking of, I read your entry about your new music video ideas. Isn't it true that when it rains, it pours? I won't get any ideas for a few weeks, then I'll get a flood of ideas at once. For the sake of my sanity (and my hard drive) I limit myself to making one video at a time, which makes choosing just *one* idea damn difficult. Email me and let me know what song you're using the Van/Hitomi vid... I hope you get around to making it, since I'd love to see it. I've also got pretty much all the scenes between the two of them memorized from storyboarding my video to death, so I can help you out if you need it.
I'm a-working today. Guess I shouldn't have gone to bed at 4 am, huh? ::cheeky grin:: Well, I never was one for common sense anyway. That'd make too much... well, sense.

<--no, but you can get bored enough with clipping subtitles out of a music video that you waste several precious hours creating an intro for said video.
Lord Rae: Hey, someone else looking for Basara! I was starting to feel like I was the only one... The HK DVDs are questionable quality, which I why I didn't use them. And I had been planning to get a hold of some raw tapes (Basara is also available on LD, but since I don't have an LD player...), but before I knew it the video had made a great deal of itself, so now I'm stuck with grunt work. :p
Anyway, I've completed my little intro to my Basara video. It's nearly a minute long. >_< You don't have to download it, of course, but if you've seen the series you might find it pretty (or corny, depending). And if you haven't, it might prep you a bit to see the video. The music video itself is packed with spoilers, but I'm hoping that it'll hook people to see this great, yet underrated, show.

Watched FLCL over the weekend. Awesome show. :) Soooo insane! I'm thinking about cosplaying as Haruko. Her level of insanity about matches my own. :p
Houston's spiffy. Tons of air pollution, very muggy, but lately the temperature has been really nice. Plus it has an awesome anime store within walking distance.
I hate subtitles. I really do. Grrrr. Legend of Basara isn't available on DVD even in Japan (it will be in February), so I decided that it'd be okay to use my fansubs. Needless to say I'm ready to tear out my hair from subtitle removal. Ah, well. I _am_ proud of this video, though, so it's worth the work.
My old roommie - aka agehanokoi, who's a member here but hasn't been online in forever - has a bday sometime this week. Crap, I wish I could remember when it was. ::sweatdrops:: Oh, well, I'll just mail her her bday gift today... X manga and a Touma/Rowen of Ronin Warriors figurine. ^_____^ I can hear her fangirl squeals from here.
Sigh... 3-day weekend's over... back to work! ;P -

I'm extremely happy right now. I *finally* got all the clips in my Basara video arranged how I want them. Woohoo! Took me long enough, huh? I started it in November, and then took December off, and finally it's done. Now I just have to remove all the subtitles, clean up the footage a little (ugh... fansubs...) and encode it. Heh - wonder how long all that'll take me? ^_^; Ah, well, it should be done soon. Hopefully people who've never seen Basara will want to watch it based on the vid.
Oh, yes, and I love 3-day weekends. :)
