ACen

ACen was pretty fun. I don't have that much to say about it...the AMV contest was pretty meh to me...there was a lot of shit in it, in my opinion, but also some really great stuff. I was disappointed because the video I made specifically for ACen didn't make the finalists, but Subsonic did. It ended up winning Best Action (somehow...o_O), so I'm not really complaining...but to be perfectly honest, I would have rather seen my ACen video and not won anything.
So...yeah, good stuff, I guess. I'm much more excited for AWA, for a multitude of reasons. One in particular, but anyway.

Life
2008-04-29 02:15:29
So, I've been kinda M.I.A. the past couple months. Aside from Improv and Gateway, I've had very little to do with the AMV world for quite a while. I made a video for ACen (and I'm very pleased with it) that I'll release after the con, but other than that, I don't know that there'll be much to expect from me over the next several months.
I've been wanting to take a break from AMVs for a while now, to be honest, but haven't had the opportunity to because of the two MEPs I've been coordinating. Now that one is finished and the other is getting closer (ever so slowly), I think I'll finally be able to have my plate clear for a little bit. I've kinda been forced to because of the massive amount of schoolwork that's been piled on me recently, giving me next to no time for AMVs anyway. On top of that, I've been absolutely addicted to Audiosurf since I downloaded it over a month ago, and most of my spare time has been dedicated to playing it.
Also, this summer, instead of staying cooped up inside working on AMV-related stuff, I really want to get outside and do more active things. My birthday's in the middle of May and I asked my parents for money for a longboard, so I anticipate spending most of my time cruising around town and enjoying the weather. Sitting in front of my computer like I have been for the last nine months just gets depressing after a while, and a three-month hiatus would definitely be a good thing for me.
That's not to say that I won't be around at all. But much, much less than I have been recently, and I'll probably be on AIM/in IRC very very rarely, if at all. I still plan on checking in on the .org every day, and downloading a video every once in a while (though truth be told, in the last month or so I've downloaded less than 10 videos), but for the most part I'm going to try and have a life elsewhere. I'll put something together for AWA Pro (though it most certainly won't be the massive project I'd been planning on, which I'm now aiming to fulfill by next year's ACen deadline, or perhaps next year's AWA Pro/Master's deadline), but other than that...I honestly don't expect to be doing anything AMV-related.
Anyone's still free to send me betas or whatever, and I'll be sure to check them out and give you detailed feedback, as always. But...yeah. I could definitely use a break.
