- Gift art for a Large Large Transportation Vehicle is so hard... 2002-06-07 21:08:18 So I just spent the whole afternoon trying to make some form of giftart for a prominent member of this community, who helped give suggestions to me for my Bebop vid I entered into Anime North 2002 (I'll give you a hint who it is... she draws lots of Bebop stuff, and her screen name has a vehicle in it, preceded by two adjectives synonymous with "large" :P). Yea, so what on Earth do you draw for someone so hard core? I tried drawing something, scrapped it (cause I suck ass at drawing). Then I tried photoshopping something, didn't like how it turned out, decided to photoshop another thing, and still am not "feeling it". Icky icky icky.

Nowadays I can't sleep at night without having the radio on, and I stay awake for at least an hour or two before drifting off. And no, I can't take afternoon naps, because if I do, it changes that 1-2 hour drifting period into 2 hours definitely, as I'm not tired at all when I hit the sack. How annoying indeed.

There's been a lot of trashing of the AN AMV contest this year. And yes, there were two videos without sound. And yes, there was a powerpoint presentation projector. And yes, even MY video had sync problems, because I sent in a CD. But I'm not complaining. Why? Because it was fun. Perhaps I'm naive, this being practically my first AMV contest. But I thought that technical screw ups happen, and the fact that Anime North is a non-profit organization run solely by volunteers really adds to that. I dunno, perhaps I'm blowing steam, perhaps I'm happy I won an Honourable Mention there (smooth self back-pat inserted deftly eh?), but ah well, it wasn't so the end of the world that people have to bitch with swearing like they just got their balls chopped off.
So they made some mistakes, they'll fix it up next year. Oh yea, and did I mention I got Honourable Mention? ;) Don't worry, I'm not on an ego-trip, I feel lucky as hell to get it, since my Bebop vid (the Corrs one) is so abstract that only hardcore CB fans should get it. Plus it's boring... and long... So I'm counting my lucky stars. Also, I got this awkward silence after my vid, instead of the rambunctious cheers, so I have a feeling that the people were like "What the fuck? Why are there so many weird duotones scenes. Why did he ruin Cowboy Bebop for me? What just happened?" My sister says they were in "awe". Whatever. Well, at least my mommy likes my video...
