AX Report Posted
2002-07-22 15:11:55
Finally wrote up and posted my report on the amv stuff at Anime Expo and posted it to the studiogaijin.org site. Cross one thing off my list. I hope Gina is busy writing up her experiences at Shoujo-con. I'm sure she is! ;)
I have watched a lot of Law & Order lately. Aaah, the power of TiVo. Not only can I watch Law any time of day or night, I can fast-forward through all those terrible Carrot Top commercials and the commercials for food places that I can't afford. :|
I feel like a traitor. I switched from PegasusMail to Mozilla Mail thinking that old Peggy had just gone kaput on me. Turns out that it wasn't so, but I think I will stick to Mozilla anyways. After 5 years with Pegasus...
Today I have to goto work, but tomorrow I plan on spending the day getting my school stuff taken care of. Financial aid, parking, drop the extra classes I have, etc. And make that damn doctor's appointment. Tie up all those lose ends.
Oh and hopefully sometime I can get new tires for my car, replace the burnt out (again!) headlight, and now replace the windshield that was broken by a motherfucking piece of gravel. I saw it hit, so I know it had to be big. Dammit. :( The crack's spreading. *sigh*
At least I'm not distracted by reading another long series! I can actually get to work on things now... right? I hope so. Before school starts... before I re-read the A Song of Ice and Fire series...

Mail Woes....
2002-07-21 00:51:36
Some of my e-mail accounts are fucked up and am waiting for the tech people to agree with me. They won't dl past 15 messages, or if I use crappy Outlook Express, it will get the messages, but screw up and not delete them off the server and won't get the new ones that are waiting. Ugh. At least I know some geeks that help me talk to the tech people, disguising the fact that I'm a total idiot when it comes to the inner shinnanigans of networking things.
I've been playing Funeral Quest for Silvercat... have to remember to do it everynight. One of the reasons I stopped playing was because I can't remember to keep playing enough that I can struggle to get ahead. Miss a day and you slip down a lot. I beat up some weaklings for you!
Boring weekend. Didn't get much done. Although Friday I finally did it. I finished the Otherland series. It's really really good. Then today I went looking into what Tad Williams has been doing lately, and there's a community where he actively participates (altho he's a very buys guy) at http://www.shadowmarch.com
I'm thrilled to have finished Sea of Silver Light. I consumed those books. Very satisfying. :)

So where was I?
2002-07-18 06:56:38
I was quite sure I had something important to write in my journal.
Whatever it was, I've forgotten it. Kazz worked LATE and then we went over to his fam's house which is like 10,000 miles away. Not really, but we didn't take the 101, my favorite freeway, so it seemed like an endless trip with traffic at 9pm. Hmph. On a Wednesday. We ate a slice of pizza each (wasn't feeling very well, sick stomach all week) and he went to work on their computer. I played with his brother's hamster a bit. He named him Hamtaro. :)
The comp was way fucked. Before we did some serious deleting of mp3's (about half the space on the comp) the HD was fragged TO HELL. Hadn't been touched in like 4 years. All sorts of crap on there, that we found with Ad Aware or some such. 300+ crappy files. Meh. Suggested that they had his sister's bf reformat and reinstall everything. It needs a mercy killing.
I should have been asleep 3 hours ago. :
Something's burning in the back of my mind but I've forgotten what it was that I wanted to write.
Gina, sure I'll play FQ while yer gone... I hope I don't forget! And if yer plane leaves at 7AM, that means you need to be there at least by 6... if not 5! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA! I have not woken up before 6am in YEARS.
But then again, yer going to Shoujocon. ;(
Started watching Berserk. Seems decent. When does the next DVD come out?
It seems we will be going to AWA! Found some folks to share a room (or a suite) with. One old friend and a friend of his. Nate's an online buddy since 6 or so years ago. Wow. And we've never even met.

Another day...
2002-07-17 15:36:31
Just a quick entry before work.
I've been sleeping a lot lately. If I'm not sleeping, I'm thinking about sleeping. I wonder if it's mono, or Valley Fever, or just summer lazyness. Either way, I feel very unmotivated.
A bat hit my mom in the face last nite. Or rather she hit it. She was bending over to pick up something, and when she stood up she was in the swoop path of the bat who was probably after the bugs she had just rousted out by cleaning the gutters on the roof. Both bat and mother are okay. Household tip: Do yardwork during the day.
I've been having stomach pains lately, and am now regretting having stir-fry for breakfast.

Shooting, Dust Storm, Rain, and Tentacle Porn
2002-07-15 15:00:25
Yesterday started out uneventfull.
I slept until 4pm, which is not that uncommon for me, but it's been a while. Got up and right away got a phone call from Kit that he was at the Strange Fiction meeting and wondered if we were gonna show up, since he's leaving the next day (today) for Michigan. Apparently he didn't know that most of us had decided to put the group on hiatus 2 months ago. He'd still been going to meetings. And hey, they had better signs for us when we showed up. Bizarre.
Anyways we chatted for a while and then he left and Kazz, Omni and I hung out at Borders for a bit. Then a group of people came in and told the folks behind the counter to call the police - apparently someone had just been shot across the street. It turns out nobody was actually shot, but a girl had apparently waved a gun around and shot it (maybe at the guy she was waving at, but it missed) then the guy wrestled her to the ground and sat on her until the police showed up. Dunno what happened after that. I watched the news last nite to find out what had happened, but because it is now Monsoon Season, all other news is secondary.
Last night was the biggest storm of the year. First a sandstorm roared in and then lightning and FINALLY some rain. We don't get a lot of rain here, so we went outside and ooo'd and aaaaah'd and the neighbors brought the kids out to look a the "ocean" (as one of them called it) forming in the wash area in front of our apartment. This is the time of year that parents have to explain what the wet stuff falling from the sky is to the young.
Since we were all rained in, we watched the live action hentais we got at AX. One of them was live action La Blue Girl and the other live action Ogenki Clinic. I've not seen La Blue Girl, and really the live action didn't make me want to. For a tentacle porn, they were sure cheap on the the tentacles. I suppose tentacle technology is still expensive that they can only have occaisional appearances, but still. Stick to anime for tentacles.
Ogenki Clinic was as funny as the anime. It was made in '88. All the girls wore those floppy ribbons and huge belts, with lots of pinky make-up. Great stuff for a laugh. Both of these live action hentais were pretty boring and pretty much non-porn. They both took plenty of time out of the main plot for the soft-core stuff. Lots of boobs and nipples going on, some lesbian kissing and licking, standard 5-minute jobs. Yawn. Guys and girls can't even take their underwear off for a crotch-shot. At least there's no gyno-cam. I'll stick to my DVDs of gay hungarian guys. They at least don't involve a pseudo-plot of demons from the sex fiend underworld.
