JOURNAL: Spyral (Spyral Rainboe)

  • Brain Malfunctioning.... 2002-06-19 23:42:21 Ugh. I've been having a hard time focusing for the past few weeks. It really sucks when I'm driving; I've missed my turn several times lately. Maybe it was all the stress of working, going to school, and making a video all at the same time with a time crunch. But why does it seem to be getting worse? :(

It's really hard to keep up in Spanish, now it seems like I don't always know what the professor is talking about, and I kinda start daydreaming. I usually don't do that. And the frappacinos have been taking longer and longer to take effect. Is it the heat? Too much cafeine? Not enough sleep? Too much sleep? I guess it's just hard to get up early (for me) and expect to actually learn for 3 hours straight.

In other news, I haven't heard from AX about getting the videos, but I mailed the disc out with a confirmation thingy and I checked it today and it was received today at 10:41am. Yay!!! Now barring any technical disasters....

Got the plane tickets to LAX. Got hotel room for July 3rd-8th. What else needs to be done? I definitely need to call and see about financial aid for next semester and tell them that I haven't graduated yet, get a credit increase on my credit card, and make a doctor's appointment. Oh, and get new glasses. In fact, that could explain why I've been having headaches and am spacing out.... at least in part....
  • Que sera sera 2002-06-18 19:58:56 Unfortunately, Silvercat can't come with Kazz and me to AX. :( Her mom's having surgury on the 1st and will be need some help for several days afterwards. Family is important. I know because I watched Godfather II last night. *pictures Gina's family*

Gina: "Brian is not my brother, he is not my friend. He's not someone I ever want to see again. But nothing is going to happen to him, not while my parents are still alive...."

Anyways. We got the videos in, and *knock on wood* unless something tragic happens.... So now we are free to watch a lot of anime! And get more ideas for the next round of videos. We technically made almost 3 vids in 3 months, that's pretty decent for only working on weekends and with the amount of problems we've been having. We really need a break. At least from the tedious part, thinking up ideas is always the fun part.

I'm well into the 3rd book of the Otherland series, if anyone is keeping track. ;)

Spanish is going pretty well, but I bombed some quizes (always the ones on Tuesdays, for some reason) but I got a 98% on the last test. So I need to keep working at it if I want to keep an A. At first, before the class started, I thought I would live with a C since I haven't taken Spanish in about 6 years. But if I work at it, I think I can get that A....

  • It's 6:15am... 2002-06-10 09:30:50 I'm not normally an early riser.

And I'm not today either - I haven't been to bed. And nobody is around on any of my chat haunts. So I might as well write something here. I hope I won't forget that I'm actually still doing stuff - ripping and encoding scenes for our video. Kazz is plugging them in as soon as I rip 'em.

Gina, never use the juicey pen again, ever! ;)

I've got to finish Tylor, then all that're left are Ping Pong Club and Haunted Junction. The vid is looking really good!!! I'm rambling, but it's 6:30 in the morning.

Thanks for the reviews, KLin. All three of them, that's great! :)

I can't remember whether I'm ripping or encoding. Let me check. We're on a roll, don't stop now!

Aunque la mona se viste de seda, la mona se queda.

  • Must.... clip.... more.... scenes.... 2002-06-09 20:59:36 Okay, we've got the video pretty much planned out, now comes the tedious task of clipping everything we are going to use. All three of us were working on this last nite. We need another good editing computer to make us all nice and efficient. Two is not enough. Possibly we can fix up the Linux box and make it a dual boot so we can do this kinda thing faster... but the only reason we are pushing it is because the post-mark deadline for AX is the 14th.

Kazz is using the daylight hours to sleeeeep today and I imagine that he's going to stay up half the night putting all this together. Me, I pissed away my time reading the forums here and talking to people on IRC and in the .org AIM chat room. Without access to dalnet for the past month, I'm kinda starved for interaction.

I'm still plugging through "River of Blue Light." I hope I finish this series before summer's over. : But I think I have enough to read to tide me over until the next of GRRM's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.... Maybe not even out until March or later. I still need to goto Book Star and use my gift certificates and pick up the newest of the Cave Bear series by Jane Auel. Yes, I buy hardcover. It supports authors. And you should too! :P

I'm still worried about budgeting the trip to AX....

Anyways, it's time to clip scenes again. I'll start with the stuff Gina selected, and TRY to read her handwriting. ;) Then I'll go through what I selected, and try to read MY handwriting. Typing is my friend.

  • Hola señores 2002-06-06 18:39:16 Started my spanish class on Monday, and I've been waaaay too busy this week. Luckily, it's only Monday through Thursday, so tomorrow I get to work all day. I can understand quite a bit of Spanish, but speaking it es muy dificil. (It's very difficult) We write compositions (composiciones), those are kinda fun. It lets you know how much viable knowledge you have.

Working on the video again this weekend. Hopefully we can really get something done, since it NEEDS to be there the 14th. Ugh. Deadlines deadlines deadlines. Still need to drop off the HD to get an estimate, but really I don't expect it to be cheap.

And I'm still not finished with the Otherland series! :(

    Off to read....
