  • Its been a while 2003-12-02 02:14:21 Indeed it has been a while since my last update....unfortunatly, I havnt been working on any AMV projects though due to damn uni work (I hate writing software and Java). I dont have any projects planned at the moment as I know I will not be able to start or complete them for a good while yet.

    Im also gonna be moving home.... which means no net connection for a while :'( ... so even if I wanted to update, i cant. Ah well, Im sure I will manage to get another AMV done at some point, just not sure when. 
  • Ready! - almost 2003-09-22 16:32:56 Ok, I have two new amvs that are very nearly finished - just need some tidying up in one or two places and they are ready for upload.

    One is ah my goddess and the other is Vampire Hunter D. One video has a cleaner rip than the other (mainly because I ripped it myslef). I have completed my costume for the anime convention on oct 31st so I am now putting the finishing touches to my AMVs ready for the con to.

    I dont think im gonna get much time now to make any more AMVs since I am back at uni - Ihave a huge amount of work to do already. Ah well, when i get board of programming (which wont take long), I will need something to get rid of the stress.

    I have also learnt yet more effects in premier so now I am looking for a fast temp song and suitable anime to create a fast paced vid to and try my hand at an effects video. Having now discovered the joy of DDR, I suppose I could look at one of the songs from it but there seems to be alot of them about so perhaps not ^_^;. Im sure ill find something.

    I hope I can get the videos uplaoded soon. Depends on how much I have to do. ^_^ 
  • Im back 2003-09-08 19:02:38 Yup, im back, back from holiday and back to working on amvs... I have so missed my PC for the past 2 weeks (wait, that sounds really sad). Anyways, I thought I should share with you some of my latest ideas (its surprising what having a limited number of mp3s avalible to listen to on your walkman can do).

    I started playing with a new amv just before I went, Vampire Hunter D set to Phantom of the opera, I was saving ths one and wasnt going to say anything but it turns out that someone else has done a love amv using VHD (since the love scenes are few and far between he will have definatly used the same clips). I have agreed to op the vid but after I have created mine - I want to compare and contrast.

    My other video I have been working on which only has final adjustments to be made to it is Ah My goddess set to Solid Harmony - Ill be there for you. I just need to finish up with some lip sync however, premiere descided to play up and keeps blanking my clips out everytime I alter a clip. They are there on the timeline but when I export or preview, I get a blank screen. It really is becoming irritating.

    Speaking of irritating If i get anoter one of those bloody on screen messsage pop-ups.... stupid things.

    Back to the topic in hand, I have had some ideas for an effect packed video since Im not a fan of effects and using them, i thought that perhaps I should do a video which uses more effects and try to pull it off successfully and not overuse them to the point of saturation or just for the sake of using them as I see happen so often.

    This one again is only an idea and wont be done for a long while yet but still, it dosnt husrt to have the next project lined up does it - although I think my hard drives are gonna start to complain soon since I have less than 1 GB of space left. Time to start archiving my projects, but how the hell am i gonna store them? hmnn... .rar file over 2 disks will seem to do for most of them, or atleast until i can get enough for a new HDD.

    Well, its now 1am where I am and I have work in the morning - no doubt chaos again since the woman who does the exams, admissions and pretty much all admin (including timetables which are currently a swearword) has left the college meaning I have to pick up the pieces... today I have loads of students who didnt have lecturers, lecturers with no students, students and lecturers but no rooms... bloody timetables... so I have one huge mess to sort out. Ah well, I leave at the end of the week also, back to uni for yet more studying of the little grey box of doom that sits in the corner. Being a student and only working suring breaks does have its advantages after all.

    Ill type more when Im awake... that may not be for a long time to come... I need another holiday already.

     
  • New AMV 2003-08-19 08:55:45 Well, I have been working on a new AMV, It uses Ah My Goddess and on major plus points, I have it on DVD so the video will be high quality. I have used an idea I saw in a friends video as a support but before I release this vid, I just want to check with them first if its ok for me to release the video using his theme.

    This one will definatly be the AMV i send into ayacon so I am going to need lots of ops on it so I can continue to work on it. The more ops I get, the better I can make the video. I want it to be perfect for aya. This time around Im including more lip syncing although I have still only used a couple of effects - I experimetned with them but didnt like them. I generall dont like effects much - i preffere them to blend into the video and look as if they belong.

    Ah well, more details on this one soon. I have complete the first set of alterations for lyrical and beat syncing, im now working on the lip sync and the final run through will be to clean up and add any final effects. So it shouldnt be long before release although I go on holiday on Saturday so I don t know if it will be ready by the end of the week.

    I took a look at compression and have been playing with DivX. It produces a resonable quality vid but im going to stick with DivX for now purley for quality and also because im more familiar with it. 
  • Ops and Con 2003-08-05 10:14:24 Im now gathering ops on my current videos in preeperation for submitting them to ayacon in october. I dont know if I will get my current project that I have finally started, completed in time to be sunmitted this year (October 16th at the latest). Im allowed to submit 3 entries but the difficulty im having is putting them in rank order.

    If anyone has any suggestions as to the current standings for the rank order then feel free to PM me as i need to make a descision to which vids im submitting and soon.
