on the cover is a photograph of anit war and anti american japanese protesters, waving an american flag with the pattern of a swastika cut into it.

the tag line notes about 10,000 people turned out.

i see an image like this, and i'm slaughtered by a torrential wave of confliciting emotions.

Rage. Indignation. Shock. Sorrow. Pity. Contempt. and even a bit of hate.

My stupefaction has yet to be lifted at this disturbing image. I'm left with questions I have no answer for.

Wether you are preferrable to the pacificst, reactionary or pro-active stance, how can you possibly make a connection between America and Nazism? How blindly ignorant can you be of both what america is and what nazism is?

How absolutely stupid are you to try and make a correlation between the two? You who see America as a cousin in any way to Nazism and wave such a gross and idiotic symbol around are not sincere. You are a lie, and the act of waving that flag is nothing more than a desperate plea to shock and startle and draw attention to yourself. You are insignificant. You are meager. And you prove it by trying to startle those around you rather that give substance to your view.

I have a supreme sense of indignation to those who choose to flame America, comparing our way life to an oppressive big brother bully style rule over the world. I do not expect everyone to agree with america, but to those countries who claim to call us allies are taking liberties that insult us, and dirty themselves.

I have a shock that so many people could gather in one place to shout something at the top of their lungs about things which they know nothing about. That so many of them view it as a status symbol to 'stand up' to america, when they arent standing up to anything but their own self-importance.

I feel supreme sorrow. Sorrow that those who have considerably more nerve than me who enlist to protect america will be subjected to this -scum- around the world who are more interested in blaming other people for their problems in life than improve themselves.

I have pity for those who so easily and cheaply shout curses and catch phrases without understanding the true weight and responsibility of those actions. they we're obviously not taught to understand accountability.

I have contempt for those who chose to remain ignorant of one simple fact. Freedom is not free. To Christians: only God's kingdom is freedom free, and that will not be a place on Earth in this earth age.

When I see protesters advocating peace, I feel confusion that they may not fully understand the issues. I see images of those who are true pacificsts, or wanting a peaceful alternative as people with high ideals, and i want to challenge them to see those ideals through to a solution. I have respect for people of those hearts.

I have no respect for this drivel. I have no respect for gutter trash more interested in telling you what to be afraid of and whos to blame for it. I have contempt for those who so carelessly sling mud.

But mostly, it makes me wanna find a serviceman/women and shake their hand.
