  • VCA's 2008-02-05 15:58:20 Once again, my amvs are not in the semi-finals. Then again, I kind of expected it, since I haven't really advertised them as much or did anything fancy with them. I guess that I should do that more often. I'm also debating if I should join an existing studio or go solo.
  • Yet another trip down Memory Lane... 2008-02-01 18:27:11 Since I was a little bored and was willing to take a mini-break from my homework, I downloaded a couple of my old AMVs in a timeline and compare them in terms of experience, footage, audio, the whole nine yards.

When I first started out, I merely used crappy and/or subtitled downloaded footage and VHS footage from my friends (the latter's mainly because I didn't really have any anime to call my own, and the only computer I had to make amvs from 2003-summer of 2004 was an iBook).

I believe it was when I started college back in fall of 2004 that I started to do stuff like overlays and such on the Macs (at the time, they had Adobe Premiere. Unfornutely, they got rid of it in favor of Final Cut Pro, which is still on these Macs). As my skills grew bit by bit (it was a slow process, considering that college is a handful), so did my range of anime within reach: some of my new friends had anime on DVD, and I officially started my own DVD collection around 2005 when I brought the 1st volume of Ultra Maniac from a now-closed Media Play in my area (it helps to have a job, and lucky for me I work at the school). I even kept a special notebook where I can write my ideas down for the near future.

  • Season's Greetings 2007-12-14 14:21:03 Since I'm going on my winter break for three weeks, with little to no Internet access, I thought that I would end the year off with "Drifting Wishes" and wishing everybody a happy holidays/new year.
  • I Know What Your're Doing.... 2007-11-27 11:40:28 The title is a reference to a song called "I Know" by Dionne Farris. Funny how I didn't even think of that song until last night, when I was doing homework (that, and"Cold Rock the Party (Bad Boy Remix)" by MC Lyte). I guess it's because nobody had either heard of those songs, among others, and/or never used them. As for the "Men in Tights" skit from the movie, downloaded one and it sounded heavy to me. Wonder if anybody used the rap song from that movie...

On another note, I'm out buying CDs like crazy because I like to surround myself with music and stuff. Helps me concentrate and tune out annoying people, even those who tend to talk over my music, for which they get 'gimp-slapped' (inside joke with my roommate. Recently brought my own copy of Di Gi Charat and am aiming for Ceres Celestial Legend and Dragon Half.
  • This is Halloween, this is Halloween... 2007-10-31 09:51:28 It's sad that I have that song stuck in my head, and it's not the Marilyn Manson version either. Rather, it's the good one from The Nightmare before Christmas (love that movie, and lucky for me, my roommate has it). Too bad that trick-or-treating's not allowed in my neighborhood...-____-
