Ah, school...
2003-05-02 10:55:54
Well here I am in school bored out of my mind for the next 15 min or so...
with little to say as usual...
I'm really glad that I got a job a month ago because now I can watch more anime! I've been really behind recently on certain titles. And more keeps coming out! (not that that's a bad thing) I've finally caught up with more GTO. Last time I watched it the 4th disc had just been released. Now I have to go get the 8th disc today after school (at least I think it's already out).
AMV update for any of those who are interested. I still have a few spots containing "artistic black" and I still want to change around a lot of stuff. Thankfully I have more people to help me and give me second opinions. *sarcastically* They have the easy job. They don't have to do any editing or other hard work like that. j/k Actually they're helping me with the hard part. heh...
On a personal note, my school prom is coming up in a few weeks. And lately all I've been thinking about is how I can get this one girl to go with me. (what do you expect, I'm a teenager) Because of it I have been distracted from my music video work...
And I only have one month to complete it for Otakon!!!!

I've been in hiding from AMVs for a while now. I stopped hanging around most of the forums. Lately it just seems too crowded and has become a very unfriendly place. I haven't really done anything in a long time in terms of reviews, posts, journal entries, emails, and stuff and junk and stuff...
But no more hiding for me! I'm now working on a new video project, and I've gotten some more friends to help me with it! I'm going to start becoming more active in the AMV world. (at least more than I have been) I have some LONG overdue reviews I need to make, and I'll probably be writing up more reviews soon...
Lately, AMVs have been getting a LOT better. I hope that this current one I'm working on can live up to that. It's amazing how huge this community has grown. But, in some ways (not all) I see that as a bad thing. And I'm not talking about too much competition...
Why the hell am I always so negative? I guess it's just a part of being a teenager...

Hello all!
Just an update on what I've been up to, for those of you who actually read my journal.
The first draft of my video is almost done. The first on is always the most difficult. After that I'm going to get input from some friends and completely rip it apart again. Then when I have the second draft done I do the same thing and so on...
I sent my 3x3 Eyes video off to Otakon and I have gotten comformation from Matt that it has been recieved. Because of some CD drive problems I was unable to get a copy of it on disk. I had to settle for just a VHS copy (which looks HORRIBLE). I doubt it will get into the contest but at least it will be shown. That's all I care about. Actually, I'm worried if they even show the overflows this year, since they could barely show all of them last year and that there will be even more this year! I sure hope they do get shown...
I will be going to both Otakon and Shoujocon this summer. My Otakon pre-reg is in the mail and I'm waiting for an email back...
Shoujocon is less than 1/2 hour from where I live! If I don't go to either of these cons then it will be because I'm dead!
That's all for now...
I wonder who actually keeps up with my journal...
At least it's someplace to compile my thoughts...

Wheee!

Well, it's been I while since I've written anything in here so here's what I've been up to lately, for those of you who care... :P
I've gotten a lot of work done on my third video but it doesn't look like I'm going to finish it for Otakon. I actually have most of it done, but I realised the other night that most of what I had done is complete and utter CRAP!!! So, now I've got some new ideas for the video and I'm going to pretty much use the same concept but I'm going to change things around a bit. I'm also thinking about using some new editing techniques that I've never tried before. I'm just gonna take it slow and experiment a little since I have all summer now.
So in other words, it's back to the drawing board for me...
As for what I'm sending to Otakon this summer, it will be my 3x3 Eyes video. I'm happy with that video, but I don't know if it will make it into the contest. They're expecting about 200 videos this year!!! Which means that only a fraction of them will make it into the contest!!! I really hope my video is one of those...

Ureshii!!!! I'm on Spring break!!!!
::clears throat::
Even though I'm on Spring break, that doesn't mean I can just sit around on my ass for a week. This is just the oppurtunity I need to get moving on my current video project. I plan to do about 4-5 hours a day this week on just video work. Maybe more. I figure that if I get enough work done, my confidence level will increase enough for me to actually finish this video.
Right now, I'm having the trouble I had with my first video. When I was making my first video, all I had was a few ideas for the song. When I started working on it, the song seemed a lot longer and I was running out of ideas. This time, I have even LESS ideas for me to work with.
My confidence is up a bit because I did some really good but difficult editing last night. I want to do a LOT of experimenting on this video. By experimenting, I mean trying out certain digital effects that Adobe has to offer. Not to say that I'm going to use a bunch of snazzy, cheezy transitions. Nor do I plan to do what Vicbond did in his When Worlds Collide video.
Until next time...
