problems...
2002-02-01 23:42:37
I've been having a lot of problems lately. They have nothing to do with my video project, but I certainly would have been better off without them.
School problems are a big one. I just finished up mid-terms and I'm really stressed out, and I guess that would effect my video progress. The new semester just started and I'm taking a new one semester class, which I would rather do without...
For the last week or so, I've done little to no work on my video each night. But, last night...last night I was feelin' pretty damn good. I trashed a scene that I was previously working on and re-edited it. It looks a lot better than what I had before. I was also able to figure out what to do on a few parts that I was either completely stuck on, or wasn't sure about. Dispite that, I didn't get any work done tonight.
I plan to do some more in the morning and more throughout the weekend...
To top off all my problems, just as I was writing that last bit, I started to feel a nautious...
I'm gonna get some sleep now...and hopefully I'll feel better in the morning...zzzzzzzzzz...

got more work done...
2002-01-27 23:51:33
I planned to do a lot of video work over the weekend...
I didn't do as much as I wanted to...
Regardless, I did progress a lot. I think I finished another draft.
I make videos in drafts. The first thing I do after capturing is fill up all the black and do all the editing I need for it. Basically, I finish the video at this time. After that, I look at it and ask myself, "How can this video be better?" I also pretend that it is not my video, and think to myself, "Why would I want to watch this?" After I figure out the answers to these questions, I do a bit more capturing, (if it calls for it) a lot of re-editing, and changing around of clips while taking notice of changes in the song. By the time this is done, I have a new draft. I then take this draft and ask myself the same questions above.
So far I have made about five or six drafts. I really want to get my name out with this video. I want this video to be PERFECT. I know it'll never be perfect, because after all...no video is perfect...not even Kevin Caldwell's 'Believe' video.
I'm starting to like writing in my journal. It gives me a chance to gather my thoughts. (I'm a little absent-minded)
Until next time...

Won't finish in time...
2002-01-22 20:51:09
Well, looks like I won't be able to finish my video in time for Katsucon. Instead, I'm going to fix it up and make it perfect (well not really) for Otakon 2K2. When I made a draft of it, I realized that it didn't make the point I wanted it to make. I have this habbit of capturing scenes of only character's faces. That's pretty much what my first video was like and it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. I'm trying to fix that problem with my current video project so it will look better.
I know that the song I picked wasn't a good choice to make a video with, but I wanted to make an action video to test my video editing skills. To most people, the song sounds greek...or maybe german...
This weekend I hope to go to New York with a bunch of friends to see the premeire of the Escaflowne movie! Unfortunately, since the company who is releasing it is trying to appeal to mostly non-anime fans, it will be dubbed. Well, the dub is better than nothing...at least, I hope so...
With some anime, it's better to not watch it at all than to watch the dub...
One more thing...
"Just because a boy is cute or likes to wear dresses and make up and enjoys the finer plot-points of yaoi does not make him gay!"

First entry
2002-01-20 21:34:40
All this time...and this is my first journal entry...
Let's see...
I've been working on a new video for Katsucon for the last month and a half. I'm really worried because the deadline is coming up. I should be able to finish it tonight, though...that's good...
I already have a new idea for my next video. I won't say what it is...yet. I will tell you that I will be sending it to Otakon 2K2. I have no idea what's going on with Otakon's contest this year and neither do Matt Pyson or Duane Johnson (Otakon's AMV contest runners).
I also plan to make a video for this year's Shoujocon. It's a small con less than 1/2 an hour away from where I live. How could I not go??? I went to last year's Shoujocon and loved it! "Guys like shoujo, too!!!"
Now...a little bit about myself. I'm 16, otaku for 2 years, AMV fan for 1 1/2 years, AMV maker for about a year, and plan to be an AMV maker for as long as possible. I may be only 16 but I know a lot about AMV's and what makes a good one. I owe my otakudom of AMV's to Scott A Melzer. Infact, I owe my entire life as an otaku to him. He's just a really cool guy all around.
Hmm...
That little bit about myself turned into a little bit about someone else...
I'll have to work on that...I'll get my chance, too, 'cause I plan on writing more journal entries in the future...
Well...I better get back to work on my video...I just hope I can get it finished by tonight... ::yawns:: ::rubs eye::
