Okay, I think all the links should work now.
I also saw today that there are two other videos now
called Slayer Moon. Interesting. I'm almost afraid to
look that them. What if they're better?
New host provider. Go thing I have no interest in running
a website because their tools would drive me nuts in
nothing flat.
What's so hard about providing people with a unix
like window?

For all those trying to d/l stuff, I got kicked off my
server. However, I am in the process of getting a new one
and should be back up in a couple of days.

more Adobe misery
2002-10-27 01:10:20
I was trying to make an audio tape of Anime Show opening and closing themes. Because I don't have a volume knob on my VCR I run it through a radio shack mixer before it hits the capture card.
Now here is where it gets tricky. Not all shows (especially on fansubs) have the same sound loudness level. So to make sure
that all the songs sound equally loud, I need to use the Audio
capture window's monitor. Unfortunately, about one in six times
exiting this function, Premiere will crash.
Fortunately, this is only an annoyence and doesn't cause much damage.

Venting
2002-10-26 11:47:24
I have decided to document here the many ways that Adobe
Premiere manages to disapoint me (software quality-wise).
This is just in the last 24 hours.
(Background: I have a G3 500 mHz Mac running 9.2 OS and AP 5.1/6.0)
I tried to to a side by side video for Angel Mask.
First I tried to make the project 1280x480. In both version this
caused a cryptic error whenever I tried to render even one frame.
Then I tried 640x240. This worked well until I tried to transform it
into a "web" file (Sorenson QT). The video, which looked perfectly
aligned and sized in the previews came out with the wrong sizing.
Specifically, I had shrunk both original and AMV down 50% with
the Clip/Move function and placed them side by side. When it
was transformed into a AMV it looked like the video was only shrunk
by 40% because a LOT was being clipped off in every direction.
So I decided to settle for a crappy looking compromise: 640x480 with
the upper 1/4 and lower quarter of the screen white.
Then I decided that I might want to use Premiere to make an
audio tape of some songs that a friend of mine had "found" on
MP3. I was reminded that 5.0 does a HORRIBLE job of translating
MP3 into AIFF. Fortunately 6.0 does an acceptable job.
Well that's all the venting for now.
Thanks to all who have downloaded "all about the Anime Baby" over 1750 time and all who are downloading Angel Mask.
I hope to have sideXside versions of Angel Mask and Slayer Moon up soon. Even with the crappy compromise, they should be fun.
btw, in Angel Mask, the first 20 seconds or so refer to season one, so it's not going to match up to season two very well. On the other hand,
the Cordilia/Rei thing scares even me.

One step at a time.
2002-09-01 21:20:32
Just recorded the opening for the TV show Angel.
Lots of crossfades, if I am going to do a shot for shot...
Not too long which is a good thing for one idea videos.
No shots of Darren/Tuxedo Mask kicking in doors though.
He does have a cool fight with Makato.
Anyway, making AMV's, one step at a time.
