JOURNAL: MarkMachine (Markus Adams)

  • Been a while i guess... 2002-04-26 17:49:08 This is my first entry in a while. The only reason i felt like writing is cuz im getting really fed up with Linkin Park and their "monopoly" on music videos.

I usually go to another forum for stuff on my new favorite anime, Yu-Gi-Oh. I posted a topic in there about making a music video and asking for some ideas about such a thing. Thats when they came. The groupies that will do anything to Linkin Park. Three videos with no thought into them seemingly done to In The End, Crawling and another one i cant remember. What's really messed up is that i was thinking of making a video with Linkin Park ONLY because the lyrics from Crawling fit the video im thinking of doing about Seto Kaiba and the insanity he shows since he lost to Yugi. Now that this person came out and said this, im just totally dropped that idea and im starting from scratch again. Just for comparison, im going to see what they're like and compare them to some of the DBZ ones here. Just for fun. If theyre ever made. Hopefully not.
  • I cant believe i was actually that way once 2002-03-13 17:24:18 Newbies. Some are flexable and some are just too damn ignorant for their own good. The hot topic in the forum now with TommyRude and Cloudbz is making me sick. I just posted my thoughts on what Cloud did to Tommy and its a shame that we have to mix hard-working newbies that are trying to get better with people like this.

    Its a damn shame...
  • Nothings set in stone 2002-03-08 08:00:39 I have been working a lot on my new video, a intro to replace that awful Rock The Dragon music that has been filling my ears for the longest time now. Im about 70% finished with it since the song is just long enough for a good intro about 1:40 seconds. The hardest part was trying to start this video off but im past that now. I threw a little bit of drama, some comedy, and a little action, the three elements that Dragonball Z has. Well maybe a little less drama.

Anyway's, im expecting to finish this video by the weekend, maybe by the end of Saturday. Im excited since this is my newest video for 2002 and i want to continue to get better in making AMV's, even though i still and always will have a passion for Dragonball/Z. Most of the footage from this video is either coming from the Saiyan Saga which i have on DVD and Cooler's Revenge, the newest DBZ movie on DVD. True to the hype, the Japanese version kills ours. Maybe the people in charge of the music there listen to all the Linkin Park videos out there...Too Too Too TOO much rock music. Almost every scene had some backgroung music playing and it gets annoying to hear almost the same kind throughout the movie.

Im going to propably start pimping this video as soon as i finish the video portion. Once i finish that, im going to add in the credits and all and maybe throw together a Cartoon Network logo just for the feel. Since my editing program cant add them on their own, im going to run it through TMPEG with some kind of logo in the corner. Maybe someone will think this is some new intro no one knew about!

    Let me stop kidding myself.
  • Gone.... 2002-02-22 17:42:48 Truly the end of an era. Like I usually do I check out my favorite sites at school inbetween study halls. I happened to come across Planet Namek and instead of that welcoming dragonball in the corner i was met with a big blue sign that said, Planet Namek is gone. All that history, all that information, all gone. To any person running a DBZ site, or even an anime site in general, i guess you could say that Planet Namek was our idol, the site that we wanted to create. Mr. E, Jon Allen, Skullmac and Julian, i wish them the best along with the thousands of others. You brought up, nutured, educated, and treated us to a great anime in Dragonball/Z/GT. Nothing lasts forever and Namek was destined to die eventually. Its nice to know that Namek brought us up and became a major icon on the internet, even to the point that the corporate peoples had to notice and try to get in on the action. To the former staff of Planet Namek, i thank you for your site and everything you did with it.

On another note, its going to be interesting to see what happens to all the things that were tied into Planet Namek. What will happen to all that info, the store, the irwin hook-up they had, and not to mention the exposure Funi got from them. I have an idea that someone will try to buy that domain and continue with Planet Namek in some way, either someone in Funi or a fan, but really mess it up. And since i know that Funi used to visit the page to see what the people wanted, i wonder what they will do now since the “official” Dragonball Z page, www.dragonballz.com, doesnt have nearly the command that Planet Namek had. Since this site died and all, i think that Funi will be going to another information heavy site and try to tie into that, maybe ultimatedbz.com or something to that nature.
  • New video, oh well, suck a butt 2002-02-21 02:51:58 I got a new idea looking at some old tapes of Ronin Warriors about making my own intro to DBZ since the only other one that i've seen used to be on majinplanet.com but they crashed or moved or something. Either way, im using the music from the Astal game on the Sega Saturn. Its a sweet japanese song that flows in a way like Cha-La Head Cha-La. Im considering adding all the credits and stuff just to make it more interesting but some of the intro footage i wanna use has japanese text over it. I know that they have it without that text but i cant find it. Its probably on one of the newer DVD's but im a poor person and i cant afford crap like that.

Its kinda sad to look at the DBZ community with music videos. Anyone that wants to come into it with a new idea is usually scorned because its a overused one before he can even say something. Eventually all the mainstream animes like Kenshin, Evangelion, Trigun and maybe Tenchi Muyo will head that way before long. I like DBZ more than anything but all this hating on the series is not very encouraging. People are entitled to their own opinions but sometimes people need to know when to shut up. Constant complaining about DBZ videos wont get you anywhere and constant complaining to newbies that DBZ sucks and its a fuck ass anime thats not worth the time slot Cartoon Network gives it are just being assholes. They have just as much reason to air something that makes people watch their station as any other creator has to make a video that everyone hails as a great addition to the AMV community. I get really tired of these constant complaints and im just tired of these types of people always talking and saying whatever they dont like is crap.

People will watch what they like, theres nothing you can do about it.
