  • VCA's is my new late addition new years resolution 2002-02-06 21:51:22 While im not even fazed in the least that my 1 solitary video didnt make it into the voting booth, im am a little upset at the same time and surprised at the same time.

    Anybody notice the presence of a DBZ and/or Eva video in almost every cataogry? And for as much as everyone bitches and whines about DBZ this and Eva that, they're pretty much the main stream animes in the voting. But this voting will be messed up, i can guarantee.

    Look at the Video of the Year catagory and you'll see. Im betting my left arm that orikuu-whatever will make a strong showing if not win the catagory. Why? There are three reasons for that.

    1. It is a damn well put together video. A prime example of what anime music videos are all about in all its excellence.

    2. The creator of that video is well known in his own right. Basically hes a well respected person in AMV.org just for that video.

    3. Whenever someone asks that question of the greatest video on AMV.org, someone always says that video, not just cuz it is good, but its one of the most popular videos ever.

    Now what does that mean to the average joe like me? of course it's mean that i'd have to sacrifice month's maybe a year in front of a computer screen to get it to the technical level of that video. But then what? Until there is some kind of regulation of opinions given to videos, no one will notice it until it is brought up in a forum, until you yourself advertise it (which many people here dont like), or someone puts their good names into the video saying its just that damn good. I feel that unfortunately, this may turn out to be a popularity contest between videos.

    No strife to ErMaC or MeriC but let me single them out for a moment. Both are well known as video creators, ErMaC for his Soul of an Angel and MeriC for her Traces of Insanity and Slugfest Can-Can. These particular videos dont measure up to orkiuu-whatever lever, but anyone will readily endorse their videos just because they're good and also because theyre POPULAR. So what does a average joe like me have to do to get into the elite ranks? or anyone for that matter? Become popular.

    Its almost like your elementary school days, when either you sat at the lunch table with all the nerds and ugly people or you sat with the upper class, pretty, popular kids.

    My goal this year is to have a video somewhere in the ranks of orik-whatever. Some would say that with my limited experience, id have no shot, but i will do what it takes. And im not really interested in the whole popularity thing, i just want to create a video that destroys the whole backbone of this site. That backbone being how Animemusicvideos.org is a place "Where only the elite belong and the average only exist." 
  • Holy rusted metal, batman! 2002-02-04 00:04:10 Im really in a bind now. I have a small project that i dont plan to release here for the people that visit my site and after that, im not sure what to do. I have recieved a gift of a orchestra version of the Shenmue soundtrack but there are only 2 songs that i see myself doing videos too, otherwise the CD is pretty sweet even though i cant even read the kanji on the CD case. Im not too keen on using japanese songs, and most of what i know i learned from watching people like Castor Troy and Mag launcher do videos with japanese lyrics.

    I have been trying to download one of the patches of Quake III for the longest but everytime i try it locks up my computer. Im needing to get some practice before i post myself up online as the ultimate BFP master. 
  • The shenmue video has self-destructed 2002-02-01 17:26:57 Son of a...

    I opened VideoWAVE and it went all freaky on me so i closed it and the nest time i opened it and opened my shenmue video, scenes were missing all over the place. To add to it, i tried re-editing those clips and the thing wouldnt accept them in the right place. I ended up pushing that little red button. I couldnt stand it.  
  • Ever been jumped by 70 guys and your only weapon is your fragrant body stench? 2002-01-24 00:37:00 Finally got to the 70 person battle in Shenmue, my favorite part of the game. When im in my groove, i can beat this no problem and even call moves before i do them. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!?! I literally got my ass beat and handed to me wrapped in plastich wrap and titled defective to my humiliation. I got beat after 20 guys on my first try and after that i couldnt beat the damn punk with the stick! Where the hell is Qui Zang when i needed his striped suit ass?

    Ill be more than happy to finish this video. It's become a pain in the ass trying to edit for. Im still not happy with the sound quality and especially how it gets squeeky or something in the chorus. If anything gets a low mark when i debut this video, it'll be that. Im guessing from a serious reviewer, somewhere in the 4 - 5 range. Least that how bad it sounds to me in the chorus.  
  • Finally got some work done! 2002-01-21 22:05:46 I finally got a good chunk of my Shenmue video done, which i have tentatively called To Avenge My Father. Im at the 1:40 mark and its funny why i had to stop. While im crusing through the editing and all, im just waiting on my piss poor gaming skills to get me through the damn game! All that;s holding me back from really finishing this video is because my weak skills wont let me finish the game.

    Enjoyed the vacation day and im going back to school. Im pretty sure that most people have semester grading schedules, and so do i, but last year we were doing quarter grading schedules. So lets say you have one quarter of math you need to make up, unless you take a night school class, you would have to take that class for half a school year to make up the credit! I wish they would have decided to do this AFTER my class graduated. Anyways, i only had one English 2, a Chemistry, and a biology credit to make up. I've made up the English 2 credit and the Chemistry credit in night school and im going to take the biology next semester, so all i have to do to graduate is to pass that class and this English 4 class then im free!
