- So much for that idea... 2001-12-28 12:51:01 I started reading the guides here on ripping video files from their sources to cut back on compression of video. I though, thats a damn good idea so i pulled out my Shenmue Dreamcast and popped it in. All i got was 3 text files so i though, must be some of that encoding, so i cant see the real files just the stuff to make people not copy them. So then i popped in my Sonic Adventure Soundtrack CD and i saw all the tracks there so i knew this would work if the files wernt blocked. Then i put in one of my DBZ DVD's and glory be, it listed 4 files so bid they had to be the videos! I got all happy, typed in the code, and it shitted me, saying the files are encrypted. What i might end up doing is seeing a friend of mine that knows about de-encrypting files (i guess you'd call him a hacker), but he specialized in video games.

What's Christmas without the snow? NOTHING! Not a flake landed on Christmas morning so i was pissed off just for that. Hey, im a classic kind of guy, i like to have a white christmas!
Well in the AMV world though, i havent been doing too much. I've started working on a few small DBZ projects, one a musical, one a rap, and one i have the idea for but not the right kind of music. The Shenmue video i wanted to do i've put on hold. Up until a few weeks before Christmas, i was told it was coming for Dreamcast only. Then SEGA announced that they're moving it to that POS X-Box. Im not about to spend $400+ dollars on that crap without a good reason. What i might end up doing is a video leading up to the next game, instead of doing the whole Shenmue story. Im trying to find a suitable japanese music for this video, the kind that leaves you in suspense right at the end. Im looking at a few songs by Megumi Hayashibara and this other group that i cant remember right now.
The only thing that worries me is that i've been doing a lot of ideas outside of my websites main focus, Dragonball Z. I still like the series but not as much as i used to. With this new deal that im working on with another webaster for a new layout i might change the focus from DBZ to generally fan entertainment of various game and anime series. -

A rather puzzling thing, i hope these people arent looking for anything particualy good in those first 3 DBZ videos... -

YES! The Sonic video, Wishes Are Eternal, was to my opinion my best work and the reviews agree with me! i am very happy that i came back strong into the AMV scene and i may continue working with video game footage or video game character animes, like Power Stone, Pokemon, and maybe Mega Man if i can find the footage.
(By the way, the series on Mega Man that im talking about was a fairly sucessful one, they made about 30+ episodes and i've recorded a few. If anyone knows where someone might be holding some or if theyre for sale someplace, let me know)
I am working on getting the DVD's to finish my Life is More Than Fighting video and all i really need is the History of Trunks DVD and the Majin Buu: Attonement DVD. (Whichever one where Vegeta sacrifices his life). I made a beta using other .mpeg sources and i'll just use this as a guide for the finished product. -

Ever notice how whenever you got a new toy when you were a kid, you always got a little more creative or imaginative? That's what happened with me. I got my new capture card a week ago and i have been trying out a lot of new ideas to work with, and a lot of them revolve around video games and animes other than Dragonball Z which i have dedicated my site to. The only problem that i have with this card is that it does comething very queer with the audio. I cant really describe it, but it makes it sound a lot more compressed or something like that. Either way, i have a lot of new ideas and some of them will stick. Let me give you a rundown of some new videos you might see here in the coming months.
Shenmue, Shenmue II - "Ryo's vengence" - This is a video that i have been putting together since Shenmue first came out in the US. After the year long wait, Shenmue II has hit store shelves and i intend to get it very soon. The title might not stick though, its just a midway title. I wanted to show in the video the lengths that Ryo goes through to catch his father's murderer, a master of a dark, forgotten style of martial arts, Lan Di. If anyone has played the first one, you sometimes feel that youre actually living his life and i don't like that part of the game. I wanted to bring back into focus how this guy destroyed his life, and now has one angry son tailing him. Im not sure which music i want to use, maybe Shenmue themesong, as it is a very mysterious song.
Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2 - no title yet - I've been a avid Sonic fan for the longest and i have been searcing and searching for someone that might have some eps of the series that ABC had on their saturday morning line-up. So far that hasnt come through, but despite that i have 2 ideas in line for Sonic. One is a look at the latest character for Sonic, Shadow. Even though he seems to have only lasted for one game, i loved how they made him.
The one and only ultimate life-form that only reason for living now is to avenge his friend, Maria. He has that cool, collected feel for a character but you know that he is no joke. But as the game progressed and he found out more about himself, he realized the real wishes that Maria had instilled into him and is devoted to making them reality, even at the cost of his life.
That's deep and i wanted to make a video that shows that idea. I don't have a song that matches what im looking for right now, but im looking at maybe using his main theme in the game. Maybe.
The other idea that i have is to make a dedication to Sonic, seeing as his 10th birthday passed a while ago. My first thought was to combine game footage and footage from the movie where he is batling Hyper Metal Sonic, but i scrapped that idea for an all game footage video. For this one, no doubt that im using the main theme from Sonic Adventure 2. The song has a lot of energy, to me anyways, and that's Sonic right there. It also has some parts where it picks up pace, allowing for the good fights against Chaos, Shadow and Dr. Eggman. Oh im drooling at how i can mix in Super Sonic into it. All the scenes when he went super are beautiful and im working on this video right now. I hope to do Sonic some justice seeing how nobody else has. Some people even label a video made by someone else as their own. But im not going into that.
Well thats it right now. Im working on the Sonic dedication video currently with my DBZ video that ive been putting off for months, so maybe those will be ready soon. Until then, my small and hopefully growing fans!
