For the first time in my life, I nearly got sick after watching a video on YouTube. Normally blood and stuff doesn't faze me, but after tracking down a video of goalie Clint Malarchuk getting slashed in the throat by a skate, I actually felt squeamish and had to sip water in the bathroom for a few minutes to calm myself down. Sick shit.

Hmm... I guess i'm one of those two people who read your journal.
Sometimes you need to vent. I've lost count of how many journals I've written where I just complained and complained. But it the end, it made me feel good. I only have one person in my life right now and I don't wanna burden her with every little thing that irks me so either here or in a blog I will just vent the help alleviate the stress.
And yes, I've been lied to many times. Even by my parents which is the soul cause of me cutting all ties with my family a few years ago. It hurts. But you learn to really appreciate those people who are legit 100x more.

I basically play games for the same reason. Sometimes RL gets so crappy that taking a few hours and engrossing yourself in some fantasy world helps to ease the stress of life and provides some much needed enjoyment. And God knows that there are times where fun moments seem like a myth.
And to add my own reason, being a MMO player. I play to meet new and interesting people. Not everyone in these games are from the US or even North America. I know of one person in my AION legion who is from Australia. Kinda weird when its nighttime here and he's just waking up :P
