My Onigiri Have Faces!
2009-11-30 16:42:11
One of my hobbies is making bento for myself- but lately there hasn't been a lot of food in my house to make bento with. :( Not that we're poor or starving or anything, it's just my parents are too busy to go grocery shopping, and I'm too broke.
I miss making bento. They were so cute. My favorites were the onigiri I made with little faces on them.
Ah well, such is the life that is mine. When I am moved out and a proper independent type of woman I shall make all the bentos I want! Of course- at the rate I'm going I could be 30 before that happens, so it might look a bit odd. But I will do it anyway!
I've also been a bit down in the dumps because after Christmas my best friend is going to Japan for a semester study. She has a boyfriend there that she will be living with during her stay. I can't blame her for being excited (having been there myself, I can vouch that Japan is WONDERFUL), but I sort of wish she would act like she might miss me a little bit. I know I'm going to miss her- I need to be a stronger person I suppose. But what's the fun of being strong if you're alone? I give myself really crap advice sometimes. -_-
In the amv news, I got some footage from Fruits Basket, so I was thinking of making an amv from that. But who knows. What I really want is to make a Nana amv- but I have no footage right now. :(
And that's all it seems. I turn 21 in a couple of weeks. Wish me luck in that. Lol.
Bye all!

Deli Life- Oh yes, it is glamorous~
2009-11-23 08:50:42
So I have been working part time at the same supermarket for a little over 3 years now. I started out as a cashier- but moved to the deli (despite my vegetarian diet) because it pays more and I am a greedy little wench.
I must say, the deli is nicer because my manager is AWESOME. He has something of the Spike Spiegel about him. Everyone feels welcome when they start out in our department, and even though the work is more difficult than cashiering neither I nor the other former cashier that now works in the deli would ever go back.
However- the customers are the same no matter what department you work in. This is a sad fact, but a fact that I must face none the less. Still- somehow they seem to lose more brain cells according to the level of difficulty in the questions I must pose to them.
For example, if I ask you: "How is the thickness on this slice for you?"
Your answer should NOT be: "I want it sandwich thickness... you know, for SANDWICHES."
That helps me not at ALL. Your definition of a "sandwich thickness" and someone elses definition of a "sandwich thickness" are not going to be the same- therefore I cannot gauge how much thicker or thinner to go based off of that idiotic answer.
I had some other customer-isms that annoy me, but I'm listening to Free Beer and Hot Wings right now, so I can't be bothered to think too hard can I? <3
Love you guys, catch you later. <3

About Me
2009-11-16 11:04:50
I wrote a while ago that I wanted to make an entry about myself as a person- but I realized I don't know how to do that without sounding really random and stupid yet.
Hmmm... how about 18 facts about me? (Why 18? Why not?
1. I am 20 years old, soon to be 21.
2. I am a girl... but not a crazy girl.
3. I am a pesco-vegetarian, which means that I eat fish, but not other animal products. I don't care if you eat meat. Be my guest.
4. I have two dogs, two cats, two Egyptian spiny mice, and one rat. I love all seven of them... but not in a creepy way.
5. In addition to being an anime geek (or otaku if you really must), I am a theatre/drama/book/cosplay/fashion geek.
6. I am currently involved in Cosmetology school. But after I graduate I want to go back to college to pursue a teaching career in Japan and after that a librarian position in the states. I know it all sounds unrelated. That's because it is.
7. I live in New England... for those of you who don't know that would be the North eastern part of the USA.,,, and no, I'm not particularly fond of lobster, nor do I say: "cah" instead of "car."
8. I have a boyfriend, 23 years old, also geeky... but into such mysterious things as Hockey and Baseball.
9. I'm into high fashion, but also Japanese street fashion such as the "lolita" look. And while I do own some items from Baby The Stars Shine Bright I cannot regularly afford such frivolities. :(
10. My favorite magazines are CanCam (Japan) and Zipper (Japan). Although I occasionally read Glamour (US) and... for laughs- Cosmo (US)... Although I've heard good things from my friend about Nylon-
11. I work part time at a deli. I realize this is ironic considering my diet.
12. I have been to Japan, France, and a few of the Caribbean islands. Japan was my favorite experience- and because of it I stayed involved in exchange programs and have three times hosted students from that particular country.
13. I studied French for about 8 years... And no, I am NOT fluent. I might continue at the college level when I return to the University... but considering where my interests lie, I have also undertaken self study of Japanese through Rosetta Stone.
14. I love love love listening to the Free Beer and Hot Wings show on weekday mornings. Despite their taste being somewhat crude at times, I can't help but enjoy their humor and sarcasm. Producer Joe is my favorite voice talent on there, despite not having as much air time as the others-
15. I used to play Field Hockey. I was a forward left inner, and I was made co-captain my senior year... I'm still not sure how that haoppened.
16. I play video games. My favorites are Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 10, and Soul Calibur 3.
17. I am also a rabid Harry Potter fan. I love Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks (although not together...), Luna Lovegood, Severus Snape and the Weasley twins.
18. I was Captain Jack Sparrow one Halloween... and I looked so much like him that no one could tell who I really was at first. I like to think that this is because of my good makeup application skills... not the possibility of any manly features.

Tackysushi in the skyyyy with perm rods-
2009-11-15 12:57:32
Hi everyone! Very happy news!!! I'll be graduating Cosmetology school roughly around February. I'm SO happy. I really just want to get out of there and go back to college- my real dream is to become a librarian you see. Well, first I want to go teach English in Japan, which is a dream I've had ever since my first visit there and my experiences with the students.
But I need a college degree to do all of that. So wish me luck!
As for my vids- I recently put up an Utena video which I'm happy with. It's still not awesomely perfect, but I think it shows how much I've grown since the first one I made- so I can be a little proud. :)
Hope to see you all again soon- thank you for the views and quick comments!

Le Sigh
2009-07-30 17:47:41
School has kept me really busy this summer!!! (I'm in a year round Cosmetology school) So sorry for not updating erm... ever.
I have a major competition coming up this Saturday. My category is avante garde hair with a phoenix as my inspiration and theme.
It's not exactly going as planned. But I'll just be happy if I can make it look less like a kindegartners art project after tomorrow.
Agh, so little time!
Later guys! <3
