- AX 2003: Late Afterthoughts 2003-07-13 16:45:40 This was the first year i wen tto Anime-Expo all 4 days. I cosplayed as Genjo Sanzo from Gensou Maden Saiyuki. I had only gone on the Saturdays of previous year and on the previous year i really only did the Exhibition Hall. Well this year i decided to go all 4 days and do things other than the exhibition hall. Thursday was my set main shopping day , so thats what i did most of that day. Friday i had to show around some of my friends who went with me that day, since this was there first year ever at Anime Expo. After showing them around i went around to take pictures of other cosplayers then saw the Sakura Taisen movie and then waited in line for the ever popular Yuki Kajiura concert. The concert was a ton of fun, especially becasue i had gotten front row seats (thanks to my handicapped friend), and the music was just uncredible. On Saturday, I waited in line starting right after the Exhibition Hall line for Masquerade Ball Tickets. the line was huge and i waited in it for about 2 hours with a friend (than some more friend decided to show up sinc i was saving their spots in line), but the line wasn't all that bad, i was able to go about and get more Cosplayer pictures and talk with some people. then after that i went and bought a collapsable Tai-CHi sword at the Exhibition Hall then wandered around a bit and stopped in a few panels here and there then waited in line for the Ball. At the Masquerade Ball there were many unbelievably good costumes and some really fun skits as well, but as i thought as soon as it came up, the Kingdom Hearts skit one the show with some gorgeous costumes and a really cool skit (but my only beef with it was that it was the first skit and kind of set the tone for all the other skits). then after the skits and costume showings there was an intermission for the AMV awards. I never had a ca=hance to really see any good AMVs in a long time, so i loved all the ones shown, especially the RahXephon - Euphoria one. then after that the judging came and awards were given and so i went a got pic of all the great costumes (the Gouf Custom being my personal favorite). ON Sunday however we only stayed for 2-3 hours in the Exhibition hall, because that day was the best day for cheap stuff. Well all in all i had a lot of fun took a lot of pics (which i need to develop) and it was basically heaven on earth for me since there arent too many Anime Cons for me to go to during the year that are relatively close by, since im only 15 and have school.
