  • New AMV is up and hopefully viewable. oO 2009-07-04 17:03:38 Whew, that was a grueling three days. ^^: Hopefully the quality is better, this time. ^^;
  • Finally___did___it. 2009-07-03 14:46:19 I used the automatic option for ffmpeg, put the .avi file into ffmpegx, resized it to 640 x 480 (the size of the .avi file) kept data rate at 1516 kbps, 29.97 fps, and no crop. The .mpeg4 .mov file could be imported into IMovie 09, and it still looks clear. I had to re-encode it, though, and I don't know if that means that it won't play in high quality on PCs. But for now, that's all I can do. Now all I have to do is to repeat the same process for all the parts of the mpvie I'm going to use--yay! ^__^
  • Reading the Apple forums.. 2009-07-03 14:17:29 From reading the forums, they say that AVIDEMUX doesn't do the job, either. It seems. I'm starting to hate IMovie '09, but it's what I have and it's served me well so far, but it can't import any container. ><
  • FFMPEGX, MPEGStream, SimpleMovieX, nothing's working. 2009-07-03 14:13:53 My blood pressure is rising over this and I'm wondering if it's even worth having spent almost two days on this just for high visual quality.

    So far I've tried SimpleMovieX: .mov file can't be imported into IMovie 09. FFMPEGX doesn't recognize the command for converting the .avi file to a .mov file, so then I tried MPEGStream. I opened my .avi file in MPEGStream, and I saved it as an .mp4--error message. Then i saved it as a .mov, and it saved successfully, but it still can't be imported into IMovie 09. I'm getting really fed up.
  • Frustration with .mov files..>< 2009-07-03 12:32:18 Okay! I cleaned the footage, it's in this nice shiny .avi file, I selected only the beginning of it since it's such a big file, put it into SimpleMovieX, saved it as a .mov file, and go figure, I can't import the .mov file in IMovie '09. Now I'm trying to enter a command line in FFMPEG to change the file into an IMovie '09-friendly ,mov file but FFMPEG isn't acknowledging the command, or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

    I opened the terminal and typed in: -ffmpeg -i Bye-Bye Liberty Crisis.AVI -vcodec copy -acodec libfaacout.mov

    The response was: -bash: ffmpeg: command not found

    I'm just about to tear my hair out. X_X
