- Profile: A common idiom to refer to someone clearly experienced in some particular field is "They've been around the block a few times".
Given that example, I suppose I'm walking up my driveway.
I've been editing videos since around '08, using some video editing software that came with a Nero DVD burning suite. (I equate this program to being about on par with Windows Movie Maker.) Since then I've moved on to Sony Vegas, and I'm trying to put a little more effort into my AMVs than I did in the early days.
I'm still getting the hang of some of the more advanced aspects of editing, though I've got a fair grasp of things like masking and layering. However I'm starting to find that it's more of how you use the effect than the effect itself, the most recent example of this being a tutorial I found right here on this website on how to remove lip flaps using a bit of masking. Never woulda thought of it.
I'm a perfectionist, and often times wind up scrapping projects and starting over out of frustration with them. (Hence why I never really finish anything.)
I'm also an author of a few mediocre fanfics and one or two original works (unfinished, no surprise) .
I'm hoping that getting involved with a community of other editors will help me not only improve my already growing skillset, but hopefully give me a little motivation boost to actually get something finished.
