- Profile: Hello fellow editors and AMV fans!
I like to consider myself and all around artist as well as a late blooming artist.
I fell into making AMV some 12 years ago (15-16) by what I can only remember as accidental. I loved watching them and in a moment thought "I wonder if I can do that." I began digital art and traditional painting in much the same way! My first AMV was made in Windows Movie Maker and Pain, and.... well..this
Good!!
I soon learned that I love this form of art and am still doing it to this day. I don't have any ultimate goal other than using it as a means of expression and entertainment. I love making videos, AMV or otherwise, and more so when people enjoy them.
Though I have been doing this a long time and won a few contests I still feel like an amature, I am self thought and sadly lack a lot of the basics; I am still and always learning.
I mainly work in Sony Vegas Pro 8, Particle Illusions and SAI/Photoshop, I've tried Adobe After Effects but are still having trouble handling it.
I live in a small Texas town that hosts a small con every year. Since moving here in 2010 the guy who runs the AMV contest for the con has dubbed me "Amv Girl." I participated for three year (and won each year) till it was ultimately canceled for lack of participants. That same guy admitted that it would have been canceled soon had I not joined. He stated that I was the only professional competition among the participants. I can't say if that is true but it is a nice compliment and I will take it!
Since the AMV contest is no long held here I sometimes venture to other Con's contests to get my kicks. I have a friend in Ohio for example and will usually participate in that one. I don't compet much but when I do I take it very seriously and very hard on myself.
My very first Youtube channel is under the name BlackBeMe, I don't make videos under that name anymore. I also adopted the name 'Resurrection Studios' I honestly can't say why, I was young and it seemed like a cool thing to do. I don't use either name much anymore but still keep them. I can be found on many sites under the name 'allmostnayone' I've used the name for much longer and prefer being called 'allmost' (2 Ls and I don't like capitalizing the A). My current YT channel is of course Allmostanyone. I also have a Deviantart and a Gaiaonline, two that I use frequently. I do have other ones like Tumblr and IMVU but dislike using them.
