[average 119.3 of 231938 opinions; standard deviation 432 ] - Profile: I'm a librarian. I also cosplay. I love cons for both the cosplay and the AMV contests- not to mention the panels, dealers rooms, and seeing my friends.
My current favorite anime/manga is Rose of Versailles. My previous favorite was Magic Knight Rayearth- yes, for four years. My favorite video games are the Final Fantasy series. I watched a lot of anime during my childhood that has yet to be licensed in the USA.
All my videos (except for my 3 first ones) are encoded in MPEG-2. They are captured using the Dazzle 80 video capture device, and edited and produced using Movie Star 5. I use Windows Media Player to view them and have had no problems whatsoever. If I use MPEG-1, the footage looks nasty. If I use AVI, the file is HUMONGOUS. MPEG-2 is the best compromise. Please view them in Windows Media Player so that the video looks rectangular instead of square.
When making AMVs, I am mainly concerned about the story that the pictures and the words are trying to tell. While there are some scenes that I pay a lot of importance to, I am mainly concerned with the whole product. I am not a technological genius nor do I have the top equipment or sources. Therefore the technical aspects of the video are not as important to me. However, I am proud of improving my skill level in editing- such as learning how to splice out subtitles or to sync to lyrics and beats. They are just not my top priority. I aim for high originality in using not so common anime and combinations I have not seen before.
