Im a 24 year old graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland. I studied Sociology/Anthropology & Women, Gender, and Sexuality. I did an ethnographic film on anime subculture for my undergraduate dissertation, so I guess you could say I have an academic interest in anime as well. I should find a place to host the documentary one of these days. Not sure what I want to do now that I've graduated, too bad I couldn't be a professional AMV watcher =]. I've been making AMV's for nearly 2 years now and I've been into anime for since I was a teenager. I tend to like animes that are more serious. I guess my videos reflect that. One of these days I'll do a comedy. Everyone seems to like those more for some reason. ;)
About My Reviews
When I give an opinion on a video, I am usually fairly generous except when it comes to capture/audio/digital effects and reviewability. I don't like watching low quality video and I especially don't like bad audio. Digital effects are great if they are used correctly. Unfortunately, most of the time they are unncessary and greatly detract from an amv. When it comes to effects, less is always more in my opinion. Reviewability is weighted heavily when considering the overall rating on a video. A video can have some flaws in it, but if I want to watch it more than once it will usually get bonus points despite those flaws. I think that's pretty fair.
