I discovered actual fan-created AMVs rather late. Around early 2001s. I'd always been fascinated with how creators of Anime created their opening and ending AMVs to open up and close each episode of an Anime series, however. And I obtained a CD in 1998 with a medium-sized collection of opening and ending clips from various Animes. I would tell people who and where I got it from, but then you would have to die. :D I had classic anime openings like Five Star Stories, (I've got to find good footage of this to make into an AMV one day. :) and Z Gundam to newer things (At the time) like Outlaw Star, Burn Up W, and Gundam Wing Season Two's openings. I even had the "Yasashii, Ii Ko ni Narenai" A.K.A. "The Baka Song" Ranma 1/2 music video on that CD. :) Unfortunately that CD has suffered quite a bit of damage, but most of the clips I have on there were still rescued. ^^; In mid-2002, I discovered this site and decided that I would attempt it and start creating my own AMVs to enjoy and share. I am a JRock/JPOP fan of about 6 years, so I'm always on the lookout for vids that utilize those sort of songs although I used to be very into American Alternative Rock before that. What else can I make note of here? Ah, I've got a pretty high-end system at the moment. It's a 2.0 gigahertz Dell Dimension. (Only 40 gigs of harddrive space at the moment unfortunately, bleah :) On a .edu connection. (It's like T3 or better :D) So I'm able to do quick reviews since I can download fast and my system can pick out all the nitty-gritty technical details on an AMV. I'm still really just learning how to do it all at the moment anyway, so my opinions probably won't be very detailed just yet and I don't expect my videos to be rated very high. But I'm happy to at least be starting, and maybe someday my works will become recognized. I can dream, can't I? :) yume... to.
