I'm a novelist, but I occasionally like to get things out in a visual medium as well. I'm not a particularly great AMV creator, despite the fact that I have a degree in video, mostly because I've been in a hurry to complete something and move on to my next (non-video) project! But of late I'm starting to take more care in my AMVs -- not least because the quality of AMVs has really amazingly increased in the few years since I've been watching. Aluminum Studios' "Blue Mercury" was the first AMV I remember seeing, and frankly that was a hard act to follow. :-) Now there are a lot of really incredible videos out there now....
To paraphrase Iņigo Montoya, there's not a lot of money in writing, so I also follow my other passion for animal training. (No, really -- see the chicken training video at www.caninesinaction.com/anime/amv.html).
Adobe is overpriced and underperforming.... I use Sonic (now Sony) Vegas Video 4.0 and I've NEVER had a crash. Even when using my archaic Win ME machine. Of course, it works even better on newer models.... I think I'd like to upgrade, but not for $200.
I'm better at cosplay. :-) But you won't regret watching my videos. Go enjoy.
