[average 119.3 of 231938 opinions; standard deviation 432 ] - Profile: I am a native of San Diego,CA. I have lived here practically all my life (except for 2 years in OK) but cannot imagine living anywhere but Southern California.
I am a web designer by trade, but I can also do 3D modeling and animation, graphic design/illustration, and of course video compiling/editing So of course AMV's not only improve my skills with the programs used for this kind of thing...plus when I end up with something good, I can show it off to any potential clients. Though I don't expect them to get the story/anime part of it.
I am what I would think qualifies as a normal/average anime fan. I have a decent collection of Anime on DVD and I am constantly looking for (and watching) any series (new or old) that I haven't seen but suits my personal taste. Other than that my anime obsession doesn't go beyond a owning a few artbooks for different series and going to Comic-Con every year here in SD, and alwayss making sure to spend some time in the anime screening rooms they always have set up.
As far as AMV's go I do not have a set regiment or schedule when making them. They usually start as a spur of the moment/sudden idea that I usually get either watching anime or listening to music...a sort of "hey..... I think this song might work for ......."
My usual style when making an AMV,is to use scenes from the anime to try and tell the story in the lyrics of the song, or sometimes the exact opposite and use a song to describe the personality/story of a character in an anime.
my vids are usually nothing overly technical or complex. Though I did take a few Final Cut/After Effects classes in college, it's not really my area of expertise so none of my vids have anything really groundbreaking as far as effects go...
...I just made them to have some fun
