Suggested editing do's and don'ts

Post by basterd!! » Sun Apr 17, 2005 7:36 am

ok, assuming we know how to use every tool in the premiere/after effects toolbox what are some good do's and don'ts that you think you've learned over the course of editing?(at least 1 of each please)

My newest revelations:

Don't use shape specific masks (i.e. stars or pentagons)

Do use masks with soft edges

DO listen to what other people say

DONT be afraid to go against their words and try things other people advise against.

DON'T leave a mouth in any position for only one frame when lip synching -- always leave it there for two frames or more, otherwise it will look too flappy.

DO try mouthing the words yourself and taking note of your own mouth movements -- remember, you DON'T close your mouth after every single syllable.
