You can use the Dazzle 80 capture device and do it the good old fashioned analog way.

x3. Methods of extracting stuff from GC games are very much in their infancy (Piracy is just starting to pick up - there are specialized rigs and mod chips coming out), but there's no way to do what you have in mind.

Analogue capture's the way to go.

take a look at http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/112
there's a discussion about backing up gamecube ( i already posted this on another thread)
its basically networking your gamecube. rather than popping the disc into your dvd drive.
if you can copy the disc you might be able to scan the video streams.
using novasoft extractor, what we use for ps2 pss scanning. if it uses a known format that is.

Thanks.

My dad still wants to see if it's possible; I don't think it's possible with our computer (it's a piece of..well, you get the idea), but I think you guys have got the right idea.

It would seem to me that the GameCube most likely uses what amounts to a standard CD-drive, so if you decoupled the drive portion from the other hardware you could get rid of autorun system.

It's a DVD type, but I'm not trying to nitpick.

I suppose you could try finding the GCN developers kit. Runs about $1500 though.

You need to network your gamecube to your pc and run phantasy star online to trick it into transferring files.

Read that after dawn forum post that was posted earlier.

I would still suggest you use a plain video capture device and record it however you want. Thats the simplest thing...
