Virtualdubmod acting a bit strange

I'm using virtualdubmod 1.5.4 and having a problem. I used smartripper to rip the dvd footage I am using for my video. Then I brought it into virtualdubmod to pick out some clips. But when I load it into virtualdubmod it looks like it converts the vob to mpeg1. Theres all kinds of lines running through moving images etc. Is there some setting that I am missing? This problem is weird because I have loaded other vob files (from different series) with no problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have interlacing.
