what's the problem?

Post by Momoirohana » Mon Aug 14, 2006 12:35 pm

Sorry if this is a repeat post! >_> I've been browsing around and I haven't found anything like it, so I'm sure it's OK.

I am really technologically-impared, so I use Windows Movie Maker because it makes sense to me. I've had the trial version of Premiere for 30 days, and I still can't figure out how to trim clips! O.o I hate WMM, but I live with it...

The trouble is, I'm trying to make a video using the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, and WMM always says there has been an error whenever I try to open it. I got it from the same place I got the complete series, and all those episodes work fine for me. I've tried everything, even convertng the file to mpeg, and it still won't work! Is the movie just too big? But I see people using it all the time for videos! Does anyone have any suggestions that don't involve using a new software program? :x

Just convert the files to .wmv ( because it sounds like you dont want to stop using WMM )

Since its a windows software, why not convert the video to something that is supported by windows like .windows media video.

Suggestions:

WMM's internal clip maker sucks big huge hairy monkey nards. Don't use it. Please. I beg of you.

Get VirtualDubMod. Use VirtualDubMod to open the movie. Disable the audio (and subs if they're soft-subs), then export AVI clips. Using VirtualDubMod this way makes perfectly nice clips for WMM to use.

That's the gist of it. If you get the program and try what I said and still don't get it... I guess I could go into detail. But try stuff out for yourself first.
