Premiere woes

Post by AGP Kadin » Thu Mar 06, 2003 1:41 pm

Before I even get started, I've read through most of Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides, but trying most of the fixes, this still doesn't work.

I'm running a Sony Vaio PCV-R755, Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.02 GHz, 480 MB of ram, Windows XP and Premiere 6.0. Also I capture my footage through Pinnacle Studio 8 and its included capture card, and a Toshiba SD-K510 DVD player (if any of this is relevant).

Well, here's the picture:

I'm just trying to get rid of the scanlines - it ruins that part of my video (ok, not "ruins" per se... but it irks me). Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Charlie

You need to deinterlace your footage. You can do it before or after editing but I prefer before.

Here is the page you probally missed.

And here is the link if you do it after editing.

I was trying to multi-task while typing my post and forgot to add a few things...

I tried deinterlacing the clips but that didn't work, and I'm not quite sure how to use inverse telecine on premiere.

While I'm at it, is there any way to get the preview window to view full screen? Thanks in advance.

You should double check your .avs files I've found it's easy to forget important scripts before. Don't deinterlace in Premeire because it sucks at it..

As for the preview window I don't think you can watch it full screen unless you export it and watch it in another program. The closest you can come is by stretching the window until the preview window is the same size as the resolution set in the video options of the project settings.

Image

Under Project|Project Settings|Keyframe & Rendering...

Make sure you have "Fields" set to "No Fields".

Also under General, make sure you're using "Video for Windows" for your "Editing Mode".

O.o Wow, thanks for the help - but now I've run into another problem. Oye.

When I load the exported avi file into VirtualDub, the avi is upside-down (it doesn't help that the help file didn't download with the program, and the FAQ page on the website is missing >.< So I'm pretty much guessing on how to use it based off A&E's site), but the interlacing problem seems to be fixed (YaY!).

Thanks again, TONS.

You can edit the images in Premiere. Look for the window with the transitions, video, and audio tabs. Find the transform folder under the video tab. Use the horizontal and vertical flips as necessary for the footage.

What are you exporting as ?

Your video shouldn't come up flipped over. If you have any whacky codec packs installed(like nimo codec pack >_>) uninstall them.

I exported the video from premiere as an avi, and the avi itself is fine, just poor quality due to the interlaced footage. Then when I open that avi in VDub, the quality issue is fixed, but the video's upside-down.
