It's just too bad they don't have any japanese classes in high school. :(

Jedi-

I never took any Japanese lessons in High School. Didn't stop me from learning.

AHAHAHA! Honma ya ookini! Anna he~..... Yo~inwanwa!!!!

Ever notice how the cocky young badasses frequently speak Kansaiben? Taro Yamamoto uses it in Battle Royale. The Dragon of Heaven Kamui encounters at his house speaks it (whose name I forget and no way I'm gonna go looking for it b/c it's not important). Then there's Mitsune of LH, which IG made GLARINGLY obvious -_-;

Good point, I just mean it would be easier to learn if I was with my friends and we all started as beginners.

Jedi-

Heh, well here's how I started. By myself I sought out a tutor then she made me memorize Hiragana the first night, and Katakana the next. From then on is when it got tough :wink:

I have been studying Japanese for about a year and a half no with no help from my stoopid high school.

Luckily, I was able to go on an exchange program and study and live in Japan. Before I left I was barely able to write Hiragana/Katakana, much less form a complete sentence. By the time I returned I could actually converse in the language.

To bad I have to continue studying French at my high school. It has completely destroyed my Japanese vocabulary. Grrr....

If you go to Japan with even a rough idea of the language, and a means of interpreting what you hear, (and actually want to learn), there's no limit to how skillful you may become in it. And then there are English teachers there who have stayed for over a decade and barely speak a sentence -_-;

Thanks for posting that link Zarxrax I've got a Hiragana quiz tomarow and I haven't really studyed much for it. I've only been in the class for a coupple weeks and already like ErMaC said I've picked up something from Evangelion. When Shinji and Rei have to shoot down the fortress angel and right before they take off Rei says "Sayonara" to Shinji. Now the first time I saw this I didn't pay it much thought but after just a little bit of study in my book I found that Sayonara has a sence of finality to it, so of course she'd say that since Rei didn't plan on serviving the mission. So now that one little part sticks out as being a very important part of that episode.

Hahaha. So I guess it's one down and more 699,999 words to go?
