Good space set romance.

Post by Unagi353 » Wed May 30, 2007 7:00 pm

I've got a vid in planning, but I've got a few holes in it in my head...
I'm basically looking for an anime set in space, with a good romance story line. The more recent the better (it would look out of place with the other stuff I'm planning to put in, which is all recent).

Help would be greatly apreciated.

If you want really recent, there is Heroic Age, which is still ongoing :P

So far it has only scratched the surface of the people's feelings, but as ANN labeled it romance I think they'll go deeper.

But like I said, still ongoing

Hoshi No Koe (Voices of a Distant Star) is what you're looking for ;)

Heh... funny you mention it... Already got that o the list... along with Place Promised (not exactly space setting, but a decent amount of sci fi in it.)

Space and romance...and no one's mentioned Macross yet? (I realize the guy had said he's looking for more recent, but still...dayumn.)

(If animation quality is that much of a concern, I'd suggest looking for Macross: Do You Remember Love? Even for an 80s movie, the animation quality is surprisingly pretty good today.)

Love and Dread

First thing that comes to mind with that idea is VanDread. I thought the love story was subtle but definetly there. And all the space scenes are CG environments with badass explosions and stuff. Contrary style to Gundam, but still a cool addition to a classic theme.
