Ten years
So my lady is gone on a girls escape this weekend and so I'm here drunk surfing through the youtubes and i happen across my old AMV that I made in highschool. After seeing that I just had to come back to this website to see what's new. Lo and behold all of the top favorite videos are the same as they were over ten years years ago when I was here last. I just have to know, has this community died out or is there some new place for AMVs I don't know about?

Re: Ten years
The method most people gave feedback changed (from opinions to comments to nothing) and the metrics used to populate those lists never changed with it.

Re: Ten years
BasharOfTheAges thanks for the reply. I assumed the method changed, or at least at least hoped it changed compaired to total stagnation. I went and rewatched all the videos from the Top Favorite Videos and was reminded of how awesome those creations were, and i also watched the videos from the top 10% list and found those to be very good as well. As I mentioned it's been over ten years since I've visited this site -- is there a means through which you would recomend me to better view content on this site? I remember back in the day I would use AMVs here to decide what shows I would want to watch, but now it just makes me want to rewatch the ones I'm already familiar with. Is that wierd?

Highest rated (?) AMVs of the last 4 years here. Doesn't seem to be a way to get any period of time larger than that (the last 5 or 10 years, for example) without just searching the all time results, which haven't changed much since 2007 at the latest.

Re: Ten years
I do agree that nobody here leaves opinions anymore except very few. I'm trying my best to leave feedback when I can. However my goal is to leave at least 3 opinions a week to help editors out. The star ratings seems like the best way to go to see what videos are good. Since it is the quickest method of rating a video. There are very few people that want to leave opinions and feedback on videos.
It's more of a youtube generation and about getting the hits on your video and a quick pat on the back. I miss the old days of the org, but I'm going to try and revive that with my Studio and see if we can't encourage people to start share opinions again. I really felt the honest feedback I got from 2002-2007 made me a better editor, and the little feedback I've gotten from some members here has really helped me out a lot over the past year since I got back into it.
As far as the topic I started, I wanted to come up with a new system that would rank the videos. This is just a test run for the video that are here on the org. If it works out good enough, I may recommend installing this into the org if possible.
