My first video was to Linkin Park-One Step Closer....because it really wasnt overused at the time..i only saw one other video. Then when i actually got it into better quality and onto the net...there were millions spawned...so i got ragged on hard.I found it kinda mean and crappy of them..cause i didnt know it was overused by then till it was to late...of course now i try to stray from any songs used by anyone else period now..think i should have done that then.. >.>

Let me off the hook? Don't make me laugh. I'm sure I can handle the
flaming of anyone that uses a badly resized ak-47 for an av.

Yeah I saw the number of DBZ vids too, which was much scarier, but
I thought it was alot more logical considering how mainstream it is. What
surprised me was that NGE was second. I figured it would be Sailor Moon.
But I guess that's why SOAD is second (mentioned earlier).

NGE's 2nd spot actually makes perfect sense if you split your demographics. You have your initiated Otaku, aka most of us around here, and you have your uninitiated, which are the newbies watching TV for their anime. While DBZ ranks as the most popular by leaps and bounds among the uninitiated, the initiated by and large dislike DBZ, half of them abhor it and would repeat the crusades against it, and a few initiated actually love it, but anyway, the initiated's top fave is typical NGE. The uninitiated just outnumber the initiated by a considerable amount.

Pierrot Le Fou, doth not mock Freako's artistic ability! Meanie.

Anyway, people think that putting some fight scenes with some heavy metal music is cool. Linkin Park has beeen really popular lately... Anyway, the 'uninitiated' (You make it sound like you hafta sacrifice an animal to be a good AMV creator! -_-) tend to use fansubs that are really bad, and you can barely tell what's going on. Some people use Linkin Park in an okay way. I saw a video to "In The End" with Cowboy Bebop, the first Linkin Park AMV I ever saw, and it was pretty good.

As far as Eva goes, I'd say it is one of, if not the most popular anime that we 'initiated' Zen master, not-retarded, anime fans use in our AMVs. I don't understand why... I mean, it isn't THAT great.
I like some other shows better!

(Cowboy Bebop is used a lot, too!)

So that poor kitten died for nothing? Dammit all!

Well I suppose that when you split the demographic that way, it makes
more sense. And if you ask me, its a good thing that NGE isn't first,
because it would mean oversaturation a la DBZ. And all the DBZ AMVs
I've ever seen were just complete scenes from DBZ with music added.
I love making AMVs for Evangelion because the Death and Rebirth DVD
is an AMVer's dream. All the footage you want without wading through
hours of what you dont want! God bless Manga and SMV!!!

I made that video before the song was released... I'm ahead of the curve.

To my knowledge, the Exies' song "My Goddess" hasn't been around for very long, so the fact that there isn't a video out yet doesn't really surprise me. Occasionally, though, you'll have the people that make a video to a song the same day it came out (or near enough). A prime example of this is Corrupted Avatar's Unity AMV, done to Disturbed's Liberate. I know a lot of you don't like DBZ vids and all that, and many of them do really suck, but the guys at Majin Planet generally do a fantastic job. I always enjoy watching them. Unity is very very good. I suppose it helps that I love the song.
