Has the music of an amv infleunced you to buy a CD?

OV - Kite - 16 Stone Pig

Strangely enough, the only two videos that have encouraged me to go and buy an Artist's CD were both made by Otaku Vengeance. Now I'm really glad that I checked these vids out, as 8Stops7 and One Minute Silence are a few of my favorite bands.

I don't really buy CDs that much anymore, because I've gotten burned one time too many finding out that the band only has one good song.

However, I did buy The Colour and the Shape by Foo Fighters after watching a vid with Everlong, looking up more Foo Fighter songs, and discovering that some of my favorite songs turned out to be by them.

Colour and Shape is an awesome CD, for those that don't have it.

As for buying a series after seeing some AMVs with it... Guilty. After seeing some good Lain vids and downloading some digi-subs, I bought the entire series practically on a whim. Glad as hell I did too.

Maybe respect for the artists? Maybe the better quality or the "officialness" of it all...

well ya but sometimes i only like one or 2 songs so that would be a kind of... and another thing i dont have and extra money so i cant buy it. i know im cheap

Yes AMVs have definately inspired me to buy cds... i'll download any amv if it is a good quality avi or mpg 30-100 megs in size, so because of this practice, i come across many amvs of songs i never heard before. I'm sure the RIAA is happy to hear that, but i'm sure those demons are sceming to stamp out amvs as well, because they are not getting money...better stop nowotherwise i'll write a thesis on why riaa is a bunch of bastards.

In short, yes amvs propted me to buy cds

also it has propted me to do an amv myself...i have anew respect for you guys who do these, because making amvs are not easy.

Sure, I'd heard the Mortal Kombat soundtrack, but after hearing that vocal, a fell in love with the track harder than the first time :D :shock: 8)
Admittedly I had to find it second hand which took a while, but that's the only one that I did actually go out hunt down and buy. There are several others I've wanted to buy but haven't gotten around to it because I don't have enough burnable fundage.
