I dont care if someone's made one or two dbz vids. But if someone's made 9 vids using a single anime (and its usualy dbz or naruto), esspecialy when most are released right after another then to me it just shows a lack of maturity with amv'sing. I dont have a problem with spelling. Just long as its not deliberate leet speak.

My big one is if someone types in 1337, I lable them an idiot, same goes for if anyone types like its a chatroom more than three times. After the third time, my forgiveness is gone and they must redeem themselves.
Nubers in name piss me off as well. The only exception is is the number isn't just an add on, but is an integral part of the name. (as in I generally don't think good of some random NaRUtO239, Until they redeem themselves)

x2. To me those creators show very little or no originality, or don't know what the hell they're doing.bum wrote:I dont care if someone's made one or two dbz vids. Descriptions - Generally you can tell the difference between someone for whom English is a second/third/ninth language and someone who's just dim/lazy. (In a pinch, you can check the profile.) Dim/lazy will not make me terribly excited to see the video. It doesn't have to be a long description; just demonstrate that you have two brain cells to rub together, okay? That one sentence can be put together sanely and spell at least most of the words right.
Blatant stupidity combined with not bothering to understand the site, like "lol i dun no" under music, I just want to kill you. Yay! There's a difference between a newbie mistake and a lazy, stupid newbie mistake. Personally, I'm still nervous about setting up video info in case I screw it up, and I've done it 15 times. Suggesting that you've thrown random things into those boxes, to match your video that took you a whole lonnnnnnnnggggg two hours to make (you proudly announce in your video info), yeah. Not upping my confidence much. (Obviously that excludes cases where there's a time limit. You know, there are people who whine about how long it takes to make a video, like three WHOLE HOURS. Those types are what I mean.)
Wake Character Up Inside type titles. Ye gods. I mean, I'm uncreative; if I could I'd just skip the separate title. But that's not how the org works, so at least have the shred of originality not to spew back the song title with a clunkily thrown-in character name. Just. Ew.
Now, these may well be the BEST VIDEOS EVER, but people really don't help their own cases.

Now that i think about it, I do a lot of these. However, if its first videos, i actually try to download it more cuz i have better chance of bein able to help and also i remember getting nothin on my first so i figure its nice to help other ppl out.
On occasion one thing i have done that is very irrational is to think of ppl as their avatar. When i first joined, Scintilla had a lot of the posts in the noob thread that helped, but his avatar was of Misato from Eva, and I just kind of assumed he was a girl. Then i visited the profile and was a tad surprised. Fortunately, i never really talked to him or anything and therefore avoided makin a fool of myself.

Don't worry about your language ability. You have both nouns AND verbs in your sentances which right there puts you a step above the pathetically lazy native english speaker.Scandia wrote:Were you all able to tell that English is my second language?
Or did you think that I was lazy and did not put in enough effort in my OPs or descriptions or profile?

I know I am new to AnimeMusicVideos.org. But the one thing that I really prejudge badly on is the year the person joined the org. If its not 2003 or below I have a hard time giving that person a chance. Or If they are in the forums asking stupid questions like "how do I watch this video". Then my prejudge mechanism kicks in and I will remember there stupid ass and avoid them.
That being said look at when i joined, and how many stupid posts i have made.

Close calls are always the most exciting. Coming close is always the most dissapointing.

You sir, are a man of principles. Of course, I can't really talk. I've only been on the forums since January this year, and didn't really do anything on the .org at all until late summer 2004...James Sharp wrote:I know I am new to AnimeMusicVideos.org. Haha, what about people who take an extended break? I'm here since 2002, but I didn't produce anything nor really take part in in, err, a good 2,5 years... so it sure doesn't mean that I'm super-talented or have produced lots of good vidsJames Sharp wrote:I know I am new to AnimeMusicVideos.org.
